This mod will add new material for between various Baldur's Gate II mods including banters, romance conflicts and interjections.

This mod is designed to work with Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn with or without the Throne of Bhaal expansion pack, Baldur's Gate Trilogy, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, or Enhanced Edition Trilogy. Please install this after all other NPC mods.

Crossmod Banter Pack is packaged and installed with WeiDU and is distributed as a self-extracting archive. To install, simply double-click the archive and follow the instructions on screen.

Alternatively the files can be extracted from the archive using WinRAR. If properly extracted, you should have a crossmodbg2 folder and setup-crossmodbg2.exe in your BG2 folder. To install, simply double-click setup-crossmodbg2.exe and follow the instructions on screen.

Please run setup-crossmodbg2.exe in your BG2 folder to reinstall, uninstall or otherwise change components.

Mac OS X
If the mod was previously installed, uninstall it before extracting the new version. Please note that this mod is incompatible with Mod Organizer. Crossmod Banter Pack is packaged and installed with WeiDU. To install, simply extract the contents of the mod into your BG2 folder. If properly extracted, you should have a crossmodbg2 folder, setup-crossmodbg2, and setup-crossmodbg2.command in your BG2 folder. To install, simply double-click setup-crossmodbg2.command and follow the instructions on screen.

Extract the contents of the mod to the folder of the game you wish to modify. Download the latest version of WeiDU for Linux from and copy WeiDU and WeInstall to /usr/bin. Following that, open a terminal and cd to your BG2 installation directory, run 'tolower' and answer Y to both queries. You can avoid running the second option (linux.ini) if you've already ran it once in the same directory. To save time, the archive is already tolowered, so there's no need to run the first option (lowercasing file names) either if you've extracted only this mod since the last time you lower cased file name. If you're unsure, running tolower and choosing both options is the safe bet.
Run WeInstall crossmodbg2 in your game folder to install the mod. Then run wine BGMain.exe and start playing.

Note: Crossmod Banter Pack
This component will add new material to your install if two or more of the mods covered by the project are installed.. It will not be able to see into the future and detect something not installed before it looks at your installation - please place it last in install order after all of the mods in this list.

Mods currently covered by this project:

There are three components to this mod: The SoA content, the ToB content, and the Romance Conflict (Kill Other Romances When One Is Active).

Crossmod Banter Pack for Shadows of Amn
This component (0) will add new material to your install of SoA based on what mods you have installed.

Crossmod Banter Pack for Throne of Bhaal
This component (1) will add new material to your install of ToB based on what mods you have installed. This component requires the previous component to be installed first. Note, some of these banters may also appear in SoA and therefore if they have all already played in SoA, you will see no new banters in ToB between those characters.

Crossmod Romance Conflicts
This component (2) will add romance conflicts between many mod NPCs in SoA (and ToB if it is installed). If you prefer multi-romances, don't install this.

Troubleshooting Information

This forum thread should help with troubleshopoting. The shgort story - on some batch installers and tools made for massive installs with many many mods, the .debug file created for a mod (NOT the weidu.log) will get overwritten by whatever was installed individually. So someone installs normally, no worries. But if they install from the command line component 0, then component 1, the SETUP-MYMOD.DEBUG file will only reflect what happened in component 1's install...

To hget around this, and to porovide a more readable and targeted debug by component of what made it into your game, what didn't, and a clue or two as to why, we have a custom debug file that is built in the folder "crossmodbg2". The files crossmod_0_debug.log, crossmod_1_debug.log, and crossmod_2_debug.log are simple .txt files that have a log of what installed and a line telling you what it could not find and therefore skipped. These will "float" with each component, so if the component is installed, it will be there in your crossmodbg2 folder.
