plainab
This isn't really a modding question, but it can possibly turn into one especially if there is a solution to the problem. It's not really a problem, but I don't understand why it is the way it is. Here's the scoop: During character creation when setting up Rangers or any of the associated Ranger kits in BG2 and/or EasyTutu, there is an automatic 2 stars located in the Two Weapon Style (TWS) ability (ability at the very bottom of the list). Is this supposed to be like this? Is there documentation somewhere that says Rangers should get a boost to the TWS ability? If not, is it hard coded or can it be modified? Link to comment
Miloch
I don't know if it's in any "official" documentation, but there's some evidence they intended this, and this was known even before the game's release (for BG2 anyway). Grep for "rangers" on this page. If you read the previous paragraph, maybe they had Drizzt in mind when they were thinking this . I guess you could argue this shouldn't necessarily be the case for Tutu, since there was no such proficiency in BG1, but then you could argue that for all the BG2 features in Tutu. As to whether it can be changed, I'm not sure. I suspect it could at least be changed via script or spell when you start the game. Link to comment
BigRob
The free stars in two-weapon fighting was a standard feature in the 2nd Edition Ranger class. When wearing leather or light armour, they could weild two weapons without penalty. This was compensation for them not being able to achieve specialisation (or later, mastery) in any weapon. Makes sense. I won't worry about it anymore. Guess, I'll be glad for a freebie even if I don't intend to use it.... Link to comment
