EiriktheScald
It's not everyday you hear a tale of an actual viking ship (including video). In 1893, it crossed the Atlantic in just 44 days. Link to comment
Vestrael
ooh! i love vikings! i'm going to marry a viking named sigurd valland and live in norway with him in 2018. how do i know this? sometimes you can just intuitively sense these things. Link to comment
EiriktheScald
Perhaps this ship will have been restored, and you can sail back on it with him. Link to comment
Vestrael
well, actually, after our wedding we get carried off in a viking longboat to the airport, and from there we take a plane to tunisia. speaking of which, i must learn to speak arabic... anyway, the moral of this story is, if you ever go to a viking wedding, be prepared for heavy lifting, as it is the tradition that the bride and groom are always carried off in a viking longboat. EiriktheScald
Scandinavians account for only 3% of the population in the county I live. So, my chances of seeing one, are slim to none. Link to comment
Vestrael
well, it never hurts to be prepared. anyway, who said it's only scandinavians who can have a viking wedding? Link to comment
EiriktheScald
It seemed a logical conclusion at the time. Link to comment
Vestrael
huh. now that i think of it, why were you researching vikings in the first place? Link to comment

EiriktheScald
Story wise, I'm on my 3rd draft, so it's taking awhile. But I've finally sent out material for proofing, then wrap up the dialog. The voicing has to be done and hopefully a custom Warrior-Poet kit. Link to comment
EiriktheScald
Hear the name Viking and images leap to mind. The Smithsonian has a nice website on the subject. Link to comment
Guest erik
Heh. I did some work onboard a viking ship replica some years ago, that later sailed Norway=>Iceland and back. Nice to see one close up! We like our bloodthirsty ancestors, here among the fjords. There are rather... heated discussions about a decision to build a new museum to house some (slightly pre-)viking ships. Proposing to build it in the middle of the medieval part of the city raised hackles. Link to comment
Vestrael
i'm sure a viking with raised hackles must be a thing to remember... Link to comment
