Amgot
I'm trying to assign a new portrait to my BG1 character for my next BG2 runthrough. I copy-pasted his file in the "characters" (or whatever it's called) folder in my BG2 directory and copy-pasted the S and M versions of the new portrait I want to assign him in my BG2 "portraits" folder. Then, using Shadow Keeper, I tried to edit my charcter portrait. The new small portrait shows up in the list for small portraits but unfortunately, the new medium/large portrait doesn't show up in the medium/large portrait list. Any idea what could cause this? My guess is that I've never really understood the difference between M and L portraits. I made a L version of the portrait (using the L dimensions) but it didn't worked (ie did not appear in SK portraits list)... PS: The M portrait is a bmp and has the right dimensions (110x130 I think). Link to comment
Kulyok
How many symbols are in your file name? There should be eight. Link to comment
Skye
Why are you using SK in the first place? For one, you can change your portrait in-game when you start playing and secondly, if you really must, you should use a different program for editing files, like Near Infinity or whatever. Link to comment
Amgot
How many symbols are in your file name? There should be eight. The filename has 7 symbols. Is that the reason for it not showing up (sorry I can't check now, I'm at work)? Edit: @ Skye Well, I'd like my portrait changed before I start playing. But just in case, if I had to change it after I start playing, I would find it in the "override" folder, right? And, err well, I've never used Near Infinity, so I just used SK.. :s Link to comment

The protagonist should be able to change his portrait, sounds, colors or scripts at any point in the game. As for the Near Infinity, you just have to load it up, click on the characters folder, find your file and change your "Small Portrait" and "Large Portrait" values in the edit tab. It's really no less complicated than SK and a lot more healthy for the game files if I do say so myself. Link to comment
