Gort
I don't quite understand what do resistances do. I have 2 cases: wizard's fire shield (red) has 2 effects - stat: fire res modifier - stat: reduced damage form magical fire modifier potion of fire res has only one effect - stat: fire res modifier Does it mean that potion of fire resistance does not protect from magical fire at all? Or what? What kind of fire is considered magical in BG2 and what isn't? Link to comment
aVENGER_(RR)
AFAIK, magical fire has not been properly implemented as a damage type in BG2 and will crash the game if it kills a creature. I don't think that any spells actually use it, so resistance to magical fire should be fairly irrelevant. Link to comment
devSin
Magic fire and magic cold are never used. Like aVENGER states, they don't work very well. The game uses normal fire and cold damage types for everything. Almost all fire and cold in the game comes from magical sources, so I imagine they didn't really need to bother making the "magic" fire and cold damage types work right. Link to comment
Gabrielle
Using magical fire and magical cold will cause the game to crash randomly. Link to comment
