WSM not working for BGII with ToB

Ok, Im totally new to this, but here it goes:

I installed BGII:SoA, then ToB, then patched to 26498. Once patched I installed the wiedu BGII fixpack and then widescreen.

After running the widescreen.exe it gives an error about not finding the setup_widescreen.bat. No biggie, I saw the setup_widescreen.exe under my install folder so I ran that. I've tried several settings and I keep getting reverted to 640x480. Any ideas for a n00b?

Im running Vista btw.

Works for me. What resolution(s) are you trying? The game will default to a broken-looking 640x480 if you're attempting to choose a fullscreen resolution that isn't supported by your video card / driver / monitor.

The recommended procedure is somewhat like this:

1) Install SoA

2) Install ToB

2) Install the 26498 patch

3) (eventually) install non-WeiDU mods (E.G. TDD)

4) Run bgconfig

5) Run bgmain, start a game up to getting freed by Imoen, choose your audio/feedback/whatever settings, quit the game.

6) Install any WeiDU mods, including the WSM.

Im going to start over from scratch. I was trying 1280 at first in windowed and then saw that that wasn't supported so resetup the widescreen to 1440x900.

Are there any required WeiDU mods I need to ensure WSM works? I only got the fixpack because it was a recommended mod.

I still cannot get it working properly. I think I have narrowed it down to my baldur.ini ? The mod says it installs properly but this is what my baldur.ini shows:

In case you need it, here is what my widescreen.log shows:

Installing [Widescreen mod]

Enter your X coordinate. It should be a number, >= 800.

Enter your Y coordinate. It should be a number, >= 600.

Do you want fullscreen? (doesn't work for non-standard resolutions)

1 = yes

0 = no

1440x900, fullscreen.

Are you sure? Y/N

Follow this procedure:

- uninstall the game

- delete the game directory

- reinstall the game, expansion, patch

- run bgconfig

- run the game, listen to Irenicus' cutscene

- install WSM.

1. anything in particular i need to do in the bgconfig ?

2. any particular install i need to do? I tried recommended and full on SoA and Full on ToB.

1. Nothing in particular, you just need to run it and close it normally (you should pass the 'concentric squares' test without errors).

2. Shouldn't matter.

I did all of what you listed in order and everything from the WSM says it completed successfully. However, now it is only running 800x600 when I have 1440x900 specified. Any other ideas? Any ini files I can verify?

Re-post your baldur.ini.

EDIT: anyway, the quick fix is to replace the "Resolution=800" line with "Resolution=1440".

That's all that shows up in my baldur.ini... Looks a little bare... I remember the first time I installed BGII the baldur.ini was fairly large. After all these remove/reloads, it now looks like this every time i uninstall and install.

Uninstall WSM, THEN run BGConfig and the game, THEN reinstall WSM.

Alright, I uninstalled WSM. I ran BGConfig.exe and started the game via bgmain.exe. My .ini still looks the same.
