bug at end of solving Skinner murders

When I go to report the solution to the skinner murders to the Bridge District guard, I get the following bug. I report who did it, the guard thanks me and gives me my rewards and then leaves. However, the guard then reappears, and the dialog repeats as if I were initially entering the Bridge District and am again told about the Skinner murders. A new set of entries in the Journal also appears. When I again tell him that I have solved the murders, he provides the rewards again and leaves. No more looping of the guard and quest appear.

 

This only started happening recently, but I updated several mods at the same time, so I don't know which mod may have introduced the bug.

I actually encountered this bug too. Of the mods you had listed, the ones I had installed were Hubelpot, Crossmod Banters, BG2Tweaks, and Level1NPCs.

Fixpack, Dungeon-Be-Gone, BanterPack, Z#Misc(Improved Statue of Riddles and Accelerated Ust Natha), UB, Kelsey, Kivan, Xan, Hubelplot, CrossMod, Level 1 NPC's, BG2 Tweaks.

I won't be able to get to it anytime soon, but I'll see what happens to a game removing them one at a time. My wild guess is that it's Hublepot because it's one of only four mods the three of us have used in common and because I've been using the others for a very long time without seeing this looping.

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my install right now, so I'll have a go at leaving Hubleplot out and I'll see if that makes any difference.

 

Hubleplot and Level1NPC's were both new for me in the game where this first popped up.

Hubelpot has some quest(s?) in that map so maybe this messed something up. Didn't in my games, but who knows?

OK, got a chance to test my game. I feel confident that Hubelpot is the culprit for the bug. I stopped the game just before making the final report to the Lieutenant.

 

With the mod installed, I reported the news, got my reward and Aegisfiel reappeared as if the murder were never solved. I talked with him and got a duplicate of the reward, and he left for good.

 

Then, I un-installed the mod and talked with the Lieutenant. I got my reward, and he left for good.

 

FWIW, Hubelpot was not in my party nor had I talked with him. I had completed polishing off the gang in the house. I have also posted this in the bug report in the mod's forum at SHS.
