Crash in Abizigal's Lair

Hello,

 

Finding myself faced with an annoying bug in Abazigal's Lair, as something is causing the game to crash in the Kuo-Toa section with the rope. Specifically, it's crashing when the game auto-summons in the area's second room, after the pool entrance (at least, I assume it's summoning monsters, probably elementals, been awhile since I've played so have forgotten the specifics). I've drawn out the Kuo-Toa in the room and slain them without incident, so sure it's something to do with the scripted action in the room, I see the animations start up and then am thrown back to Windows. Assume it's some conflict with a mod, any insights would be appreciated.

Coincidentally, this happened to me earlier tonight, also. The problem is with elwatg01.cre. I couldn't figure out what modified it (and a Google search only turned up a mention of it on the Fixpack boards here and here). A quick fix is to take it out of override.

 

My install includes all of ragnarock's mods except Tactics and Yasraena. Here's a link to the full list.

After doing some digging, I think this is due to SCS II's Smarter General AI. I found this in genai.tph:

 

COPY_EXISTING ~elwatg01.cre~ ~override~
REPLACE_TEXTUALLY CASE_INSENSITIVE ~wdasight~ ~wtarsgt~

Similar code nearby included an (8) on the end of the REPLACE_TEXTUALLY line.

Eh... yeah, that'll corrupt a CRE no doubt, replacing an 8-character string with 7-chars and no delimiting. This'd do the same thing, but I guess he's trying to allow for the possibility scripts have been shuffled around somehow by doing it with the REPLACE_TEXTUALLY.
