gertjanvh
Hi all, I'm looking for a piece of software, which will allow me te view two text's side-by-side in the same window and which I can therefor edit both and at the same time without switching tabs or windows, for revisioning purposes and the like. I'm mainly using Word at the moment, and I don't believe Word has this function. Can anyone make a recommendation? Link to comment
Rabain
Context has the option to tile the files you have open, either horizontally (so they are above/below each other) or vertically (so they are left/right of each other). Unlike Word this happens inside the Context main screen so you don't have to switch to use the other document. Not sure about other editors. Link to comment
gertjanvh
Thanks for the suggestion:) But I really need something for writers. ComTEXT, should be able to do the trick, but it's much more suitable for coders. Things like spell-checking, auto-correction and the like are missing, which are basic requirements for me. the bigg
Minimize all windows but the two Word Documents. Right click on the task bar -> Tile Windows Vertically. It's not the same thing as having two documents in the same window, but hopefully it solves your problem. Link to comment
