After double checking, Fighter/Druids use fighter restrictions is in and armor assignment for fighterly types is now sightly more generous such that Sarevok qualifies for plate.

Let me think about messing with the Fate Spirit dialogues. It's a neat idea.

This sounds great. I do think it makes most sense for a F/D to be able to put 2 stars in every weapon they can use, rather than just some weapons.

Thanks for all your hard work.

My pleasure :) It's been tricky going of late, so it's kind of fun again.

I'm going to go back through the horrible xp mess component and and support for non-human NPCs to dual class (since human multiclasses are already in, naturally). Can't think of anything else at the moment that ought to go in, which is relieving.

Nythrun, could you make it possible to allow that Haer'Dalis jackass to place 2* in Short Sword during L1NPCs setup? He's currently only allowed 1* (which is correct for a Blade) but the stock jackass has 2* in Short Sword. This may be illegal, but it'd be nice to L1NPCs him but also keep the option of 2* in Short Sword. Does that make sense?

And while I think of it, are there any other NPCs with illegal proficiencies who could benefit from such treatment? I don't currently have Tutu installed, but am I right in thinking that Coran has an illegal 3* in a bow of some sort?

Edit: The racial enemies list you get to choose from doesn't include Gnoll (please note that I base this on a BG2 installation of L1NPCs), which is what Minsc has in BG1. Perhaps it could be added.

I give Haer'Dalis an extra free star in short swords (if he's not normally allowed to use them, he gets one star, if he has one already, he gets two and so on). I'd thought that was already in the last uploaded version - guess not :( He'll still get his second star in longswords from his native ToB script whether he can use them or not.

The only other NPC whom I cheat in this way is Xan - but I can certainly bump Coran too.

Gnolls were removed from the ranger racial enemy list in BGII, I'd have to patch them back in. It's not much of a problem to do so, but it'll then be available to any ranger at all. Still might be nice for Tutu games :D

One of these days I'm going to stop messing around with the horrible XP adjuster and just release this. I swear it's the ugliest thing I've ever written.

Really, you shouldn't worry about it too much. CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP is pretty easy to use as an alternative. :(

Gnolls are available as a racial enemy in EasyTutu. I don't see why it'd be a problem if they were available to all rangers in BG2 though.

But yeah, stop messing around and release it already :D.

Ray Nythrun, pretend for a moment that I don't know anything about metallurgy, engineering, or physics, things in general and just tell me what the hell is going on this free star stuff is all about.

I'm aware that in the stock game Haer'Dalis gets an illegal 2* in short sword, but what's this about a second * in long swords? I'm confused now about what I should be doing with him during L1NPCs setup e.g. if I want him to have 2* in short sword, how many should I assign during setup? And are you saying that he gets a free * in long swords? So would it be a waste if I put a * in long swords, or would that mean he'd end up with 2* there?

And in what way did you cheat with Xan, and how will this affect the L1NPCs setup process? It would make most sense to me to display the max number of * an NPC can get in a weapon during setup, if that's possible to do on an individual basis.

Hey, I found some curious shrimp with Mazzy's weapons. I used CLUAConsole and spawned her in the starting dungeon (just to take a look at the lass) and noticed that her sword said:

Not Usable By:

Non-Halflings

Cleric

and the bow said:

Not Usable By:

Non-halflings

Cleric

Apart from the difference with H/h (probably the Fixpack GTU being crap), the Cleric part is surely wrong since I've installed the 'Tweak weapon proficiencies for some classes' and made it so that every class can wield every weapon (apart from monks, I guess). Am I right in thinking this, or is there some weird intentional non-cleric thing going on with Mazzy's weapons? I suppose this is really just a cosmetic issue, but I thought it'd be worth mentioning.

You never studied :(

ToB Haer'Dalis gets an illegal two stars in longswords, for free. Only the BG2 devs know why. Or rather, no one knows anymore :D

Adding one star to short swords when installing Level One NPCs will result in two stars for Haer'Dalis, Xan usually can't put stars into longsword at all, but he's getting a freebee for the moonblade.

I pull the list of racial enemies out of haterace.2da, so I think the thing to do is just to point people at Ding0 tweak for that.

'Tweak weapon proficiencies for some classes' doesn't touch signature weapons, forged millenia ago by a smith who couldn't even use them and carried along from generation to generation as an overgrown paperweight. I'll see about making the descriptions less incoherent, though.

True, but the flowers are still standing! :D

I started a new ToB game with the Fixpack as the only mod installed, and used CLUAConsole to summon the following:

Haer10

Haer11

Haer13

Haer15

Haer19

None of those had 2* in long sword, so I still don't really follow what you've said.

There's still haer25.bcs, which ought to kick in after Haer'Dalis joins the party

I've just finished rewriting the whole thing, and I'm looking at better automatic description updates for NPC items now - this part is difficult, as the existing descriptions are often lying, hee.
