yarpen
Increasing of price asked by Gaelan is very, very fine component - for me one of these 'must-have' but still it's easy to have this money. After making most of quests you have got far more than 100 000 (especially if you're not playing with stupid things like a buying potions etc.). Then... what about: ...time limit? For example, if I will have 40 days to do everything - it will be hard. And will allow to move some quests to far far away, after Underdark. I know, Irenicus is waiting etc. Then maybe... after this time you will be forced straight to Spellhold? For example. group of Cowled Wizards will came and... you now what will happen. Kulyok
I'll write a "Kill Imoen" mod one day, I promise. Seriously, though, as time passes, Irenicus gets (more and more) control over Spellhold, so the possibility of Cowled Wizards appearing and transporting PC to Spellhold, while it is no longer theirs(as Teos himself mentions at the end of the Sphere stronghold quest string) is quite close to zero. (And, it's roleplaying! And freedom! Freedom Not To Save Imoen Right Away, or While There're Still Quests Left, that is). Link to comment
yarpen
I'll write a "Kill Imoen" mod one day, I promise. Yup, it would be fine. Irenicus: Don't try to do that! I'll kill her! Charname: ...whatever. Seriously, though, as time passes, Irenicus gets (more and more) control over Spellhold But still he can control some of them. And what about Lonk? ;-) I was thinking about it like a challenge-increasing component than storyline improvement. ;-) I'm to dumb-ish and weak at english to do that, that's why I'm showing it here. ;P Link to comment
DavidW
Actually that component was mostly intended for role-playing reasons rather than challenge... it makes it a bit more natural to spend ages doing sidequests in chapter 2. Link to comment
yarpen
True, but I think also reduces your time as a source. You have to think 'which quests are most important' and where I can have more cash/xp/items. :-) Link to comment
Jadefang
While we're on the topic of that component, I'm wondering a few things about it. Is the ACTUAL amount of gold needed lower than the asking price (similar to how the actual amount in the default game is 15,000, though Gaelan asks for 20,000). And it also affects Bodhi's asking price and trigger as well? Link to comment
Demivrgvs
Yes it does. For example i've opted to 40.000 and both Galean second offer and Valen asking to meet Bodhi triggered when reaching 30.000. I think DavidW may have done it so that the "actual" amount of gold needed is always 3/4 of the first offer. Link to comment
