Daulmakan
I've heard that bad things happen if your PC slept with Aerie, but she seemed to react very positively to it in my game... Know anything about that? It'd be good to know if I decide to play the romance again. I also had a small number of mods installed. Can't remember which ones, but they might have altered the mix somehow. In the vanilla game, Aerie will break up with you after sleeping together ('things go too fast' and all that). However, that applies to Shadows of Amn only. In Throne of Bhaal, all romances are continued, even if they were previously ended (you can break them again for good, of course). Link to comment

Is that supposed to happen right after the PC sleeps with her? Because it didn't... Are there any mods that I might have been playing that alter her romance? I don't see any good reason why sex would cause the romance to end unless the PC is an ass towards her afterwards. aWL Link to comment

(Remembers past classmates in high school) aWL Oh, geez can you imagine? A romantic evening...all alone, just you and Aerie...she reaches into her robes... And pulls out a "How to...For Dummies- A Reference for the Rest of Us!" I have a feeling that Banana! will ultimately become a TC....because the ideas keep piling up. On a serious note, we're only months away from the BG 10 year release. Link to comment
Kulyok
Ten years! Where did the time go... Last night, I dreamt of playing Planescape:Torment in 3D. It was a very unusual experience: like watching "Ocean's Eleven" from high in the sky, falling down all the time, but never actually crashing. Speaking of which, I like Widescreen mod. And speaking of Banana! mod, where is Mang0 crossmod content? Link to comment

As for Banana!, PERMISSION IS NOT NEEDED to write crossmod for it. Though I can't honestly think of anyone who would dare touch it, for fear of imploding upon contact. Link to comment
jcompton
For the squillionth time... In the core game, sleeping with Aerie (and not being a jerk, subsequently) did not, strictly speaking, "break the romance." Instead, most of the options (including the seemingly "best" one, a heartfelt profession of love) simply failed to set AerieRomanceActive to 2--that is, the romance had no further lovetalks, but AerieRomanceActive remained exactly as it was before the choice was offered, which for most players meant it was at 1*. (One of the options, a strangely noncommital one, results in AerieRomanceActive being set to 2.) When you enter TOB, if AerieRomanceActive isn't 2, it becomes 3. Thus, it appears that the romance was terminated when you slept with her, when in fact it was only cut off when you entered TOB because the romance had ended with AerieRomanceActive still set to 1. There is no doubt in my mind that this situation is Clearly a Bug, and if sleeping with Aerie in SOA was truly supposed to break the romance for all-time, they would have actually set AerieRomanceActive to 3--nowhere else do they take the approach of simply letting a romance "die" due to benign neglect and there's no reason to think they meant to do it in this case, either. As a result, the Flirt Pack fixes this state so that you can sleep with Aerie, not be a jerk about it, and properly get AerieRomanceActive set to 2. * - It is possible to get AerieRomanceActive set to 2 rather earlier in the romance by navigating the HD love triangle. gertjanvh
Favorite romances.. My number one would be Amber, because of her voicing, writing and portrait. (In that order ) Other than that, I too like the Jaheira romance, because of her more grownup approach to relationships, but I ultimately fell in love with Aerie 'cause I got to pick her up every time she fell down (that's probably the same reasoning why I still go and see every Julia Roberts movie) Link to comment

Kulyok
Ha! I just found out that Nox is still played and modded online. Nox! Honestly, people will keep modding Arkanoid long after we die. (in Delenn's voice) In the end it would hold because what is built endures. And what is loved endures. And Baldur's Gate... Baldur's Gate endures. Link to comment
