Guest Wayne Pleasant
I'm currently playing through Dragon's Eye, and have downloaded the tweak pack (v8). I can't seem to get Calliana to respond to the fact that I rescued her. Is there a reward for the getting her to acknowledge this, and what is it, just so I don't have to start a new game if something is messed up with the one I'm already on. I've got the journal entry saying I've saved Egenia from the priests and trolls, yet nothing seems to be happening. Also, can someone write down what Calliana actually says about Egenia after rescuing her? Thanks, and keep up the good work with making IWD, an already great game, even better. Link to comment
CamDawg
There's no reward. However, remember that Egenia doesn't actually leave DE until you've finished all the levels... Link to comment
Guest Wayne Pleasant
If, when I go down to the next floor of Dragon's Eye from the one Egenia is on, and upon returning from that floor she is gone, can I assume something is fouled up? I installed the tweak well before my party reached Dragon's Eye, but I'm wondering if an old save (from another game) can mess it up as well. Link to comment
CamDawg
She should be either where she was originally or waiting by the entrance to the lower level. She shouldn't disappear until after Yxonomei is dead. (I'm looking at this on a TotL game; they may do something different for base IWD/HoW games.) Link to comment
Guest Wayne Pleasant
Sure enough, she was at the exit to the lower floor. Someone needs to tie her down so she doesn't get lost in the first place. Flaky Ilmatarii. Link to comment
Guest Wayne Pleasant
Oh, and thanks for your help, Dawg. Link to comment
grogerson
I've always found her moved to the entrance to the lower level in IWD, HoW or TotL games. If she isn't there, there may be another trigger that sends her off. You may want to check her script for such. Link to comment
CamDawg
She moves when EGANIA_MOVE (sic) is set to 1. If you've spoken to her, as soon as you leave her area and return she should move, as both the first and third DE areas set the variable to 1. Link to comment
CamDawg
And now that I think about it, this doesn't make sense. EGANIA_MOVE is set by both the DE1 and DE3 area scripts if you've spoken to her. Let's say you kill the Talonites and rescue Egenia and do nothing else. Then you go back to DE1 (say, to rest or on your way back to Kuldahar for supplies) and then later return to DE2. Egenia will now move from her original (and safe) location to the middle of the troll pack near the exit to DE3. Easiest way to avoid this is probably to simply remove the variable set from DE1. Kulyok
Just a point: other mods may rely on a certain variable being set in a certain area. IWD NPC, for example, relies on Egenia_Talked>0 being met in AR4002, if PC talked to her. I'm sure we won't run into any incompatibilities, of course. Link to comment
CamDawg
I think the only place I've had to rejuggle a lot of variables was for Bandoth, as his dialogue (and the razorvine quest) were in very, very poor shape. Otherwise, yes, mucking around with variables is a bad thing. Link to comment
