CHU - "Error while writing file"

Hi,

 

I'm trying to edit a BG1/TOTSC CHU file. It loads fine, and all works as expected. However, when I come to "Save UI As..." it instantly pops up with "Error while writing file". It does this regardless of whether I edit an existing file, open an existing file without changing anything, or try to save a blank New UI file.

 

Exporting to TBG / TP2 both appear to work, however.

 

Is this a known bug? Am I doing something stupid (I'm new to DLCTEP & IE Modding, so I could be)? Is is possible to convert from one of the successful exports back to a CHU file?

 

I tried this under wine, then took it to a friend's XP PC, and the same thing happened. This is using v7.1, downloaded from sf today.

I couldn't reproduce the problem.

I loaded start.chu and wrote it as startz.chu without any problem.

 

Can you create other filetypes with dltcep?

Somewhere along the line it''s a permissions problem - I just tried it as root to test, and it worked as expected. I still don't see why it doesn't work - the files it's loading are ro, but I'm asking it to save them in my home directory. This is using my wine installation again.

 

As I only need to use it occasionally just doing the odd bit as root is acceptable, but if you have any suggestions as to why this is happening do let me know.

I see. I have problems with wine and file access too.

So i cannot help

Especially weidu fscks it up, but i have problems with opening biffed files too.
