berelinde
Thanks to EricP, I've had a bit of a kick in the pants regarding my previous efforts to make the Sindarin language more accessible. If you missed the original discussion, I started writing a student's guide to Thorsten Renk's Pedin Edhellen back in 2004. Renk encouraged the endeavor at the time, though much can change in four years. When my life got crazy, he courteously gave me the space I needed to work things through. I only got as far as chapter 6 out of 20-something, and there were a few errors, which I've still got identified in back emails. In early 2005, my father's degenerative illness became much worse, and I had to discontinue everything else to care for him. His death in April of that year was distracting enough to put a stop to any future development, or even to fixing the errors that I knew were there. Well, EricP's discussion on Sindarin has got me thinking about it again, and I'm determined to resume, when I can fit it in among modding projects. I wouldn't look for a revamp quite yet. I've got to relearn an awful lot, both about Sindarin and about html, and I'm not about to let a new friend (modding the Infinity Engine) go just because I'm looking up an old one. But if you're interested in learning the Sindarin language, I'd like to hear more about learning tools that you might find useful. So far, I've got study questions, flash cards for vocabulary, and crossword puzzles (Renk really liked the crossword puzzles). Website Link to comment
Qwallath
I recently downloaded the course from the website, and I hope I'll have time to check it out soon. I dabbled in Quenya a bit a a couple of years ago (see avatar), but I never got around to really getting into it. If I have any comments or questions, I'll let you know Link to comment
berelinde
Your avatar was another motivation. Tengwar is beautiful, and it appeals to whatever artistic muse inhabits this mass of animated carbon. I'd be grateful for any suggestions. I'm a frustrated teacher, so I'd like to explore learning tools that people might find helpful, but that I haven't considered. Link to comment
