Bearwere
the second column of profsmax.2da has no effect in BG2ToB, thus enabling fighters to get 4 stars at first level (BGT case) Link to comment
Icendoan
But, fighters can, it is one of there bonuses. If this is a BGT bug, report it over at SHS. Icen Link to comment
Gorilym
IIRC fighters shouldn't be able to take more than two stars in any profiency at level 1; and, again IIRC, they couldn't in BG1. Which makes sense to me - I can't see an acceptable rationale for an upstart fighter having (high) mastery in any weapon. Link to comment

Well, upon using my brain, I discovered that profsmax.2da has no effect at all in bg2tob. Sad. Link to comment
igi
Can anyone confirm this? Also, can anyone confirm that it has any effect in any engine? Link to comment
the bigg
In BG1 (and IIRC also IWD1), this is respected - you can't put more than two pips in any proficiency, even if you're a fighter. They must've removed this bit of code during the transition. Interestingly, they didn't remove the 'first level life insurance' snippet from bg1 to bg2. Link to comment
