Jack the Ripper
Hello, First, I introduce myself : My name is Stéphanie, I'm a girl, I'm 23 years old and I'm a modder from the most important french community about Baldur's Gate 2, "La Couronne de Cuivre" (you can translate : "The Copper Coronet"). And today, after six months of hard work, I would like to present you the results around "The Chronicles of Severian", a new Stalker for Baldur's Gate 2 (SoA + ToB). But first, let's tell more about the Character: Name : Stark Surname : Severian Age : 25 Alignment : Chaotic neutral Class : Highwayman (a new kit of Ranger, "Highwayman" is the most approaching translation but not exact) Race : Half-Shadow (he is a Planar, no relation with Faerun) A new kit of class, a new race, new items, a romance (only for women elf, half-elf and human), a friendship (for women and men), a familiar, an epic story in four chapters (SoA + ToB), a big soundtrack (more than 15 titles), a lot of banters and interjects... And now, I invite you in discovering the trailer of The Chronicles of Severian on Youtube, and after that, three screens. About the soundtrack, you can heard some extracts watching the trailer. And actually, what is the progress of the mod? The Chronicles are actually in beta-version 2.5, around 50% of the mod is done. There is again a lot of work, but the mod should be available beginning 2009. Be careful : the mod is actually not translated in english because of a lot of work. On this subject, I'm looking for some nice native english speakers for checking my translations from french to english...Just contact me here. It would be very, very nice. I hope you will appreciate my work. Any questions or comments are welcome, I will stay around here if you need some precisions. P.S : if there is any mistake of translation in my trailer, please tell me. muffin-tacos
This is a very interesting idea! I like it. I wouldn't mind to find out more about it. Some spoilers perhaps? Edit: He's very handsome too, isn't he. Hehe. Link to comment
muffin-tacos
I liked the trailer too, by the way. It was very dramatic! Link to comment
Jack the Ripper
@Amgot : Congratulations, your french is good ! And it's 'Impressionnant', with two 'n'. Thanks for your support. @Muffin-Tacos : Severian told me that it would be a pleasure if you accepted to dine in candlelight with him... Concerning any spoil, of course I can tell more about the mod, but with caution.^^ I will begin with the portraits: SEVERIAN STARK BLAIDD, THE SHADOW WOLF Around the kit, in fact it's "Highwayman", I made a mistake, "Hunter" being the old name of the kit. I must translate it in english for you but I can already say that he has special abilities like 'Improved Invisibility', 'True sight' and others...that you will discover later. Concerning his race, he is a planar, coming from the world "Elandor", exile on Toril. He is the son of a Shadow and a human but his story, you will have to reveal it, too. A little about his personnality, now: - A furtive fighter, charmer and fine blade, who spent his life on the road, as a highwayman. - Like the apples, the beer, the courtesans and smoke the pipe - Optimistic, sarcastic, sometimes disenchanted - His best friend : Blaidd the Shadow wolf The mod Severian, as you can see on the trailer and on the screens, comes with some enemys...I hope you will appreciate the confrontations. And about the romance, which can interest you, Muffin-Tacos, : more than 15 long dialogs of romance with items and cutscenes, for SoA (for ToB, I don't know how many, at the moment). Link to comment

Guest LoveWarCoffee
I think it's really fantastic that there's crossover from the French modding community. I applaud your efforts, from what I've seen the mod looks utterly fantastic. I'm more than willing to help with translation, although unfortunately the only non-english language I speak is Russian. The major question, and it has to be asked, is whether or not the mod is a WeiDU install? Does it overwrite the dialog.tlk file? I hope you're not offended by my asking, but I just want to make sure! ~LWC~ Link to comment

And yes, as a mod from the new generation, The Chronicles of Severian is a WeiDU mod, I forgot to clarify this point. At the moment, I'm waiting for the translation of the kit, then I will be able to tell you more about this Ranger and some other things if you want. Best regards Link to comment

While this is not necessary (due to my mad install skillz *L*), it is always helpful for us Mac users Happy modding, Eric Link to comment

One thing I can think of is that, when you write a file path, use the / instead of the \ to separate directories. Another thing that makes life easier for Mac users when installing the mod is if the .tp2 file is in the mod's main folder, and not buried in a subfolder somewhere. That way, we can copy what's in the main folder to the game folder, then use weidu-mac to open the .tp2 and proceed with installation. Take care, Eric Link to comment
Alinia
This looks very promising. You seem to be passionate about the project, and that makes for better mods. Plus, the character looks quite interesting. I don't know much french at all, though I wish I did. Best of luck with the completion of the project! Link to comment
