I don't actually remember! - sorry.

 

What may not be obvious to observers is that what mod I'm working on depends a lot on what game I'm playing. We're currently in the late stages of ToB, which is a lot of the reason why SCSII (and a related unreleased project) have had more attention. Once we defeat Melissan and go on to something else, I'll come back to SCSI; until then, I have to search my memory...

A few rather minor things:

 

1. "Make elemental arrows more like BG2". The Fire Arrows does D6 physical damage + D3 Fire Damage, but I've seen Kobold Commandos with Short Bows and Fire Arrows do 8+6 damage (no critical).

 

2. "Dark-Side-based kobold upgrade". The description of the Kobold Guards' "Noma Sticka" says it's a Small Sword when it's really a Dagger. I guess this is not a bug, but just a cosmetic oversight.

 

3. Grey Wolf. Is this guy a Wizard slayer? He went after Xzar like, completely ignoring the other party members, which at level 2-3 are all more dangerous than Xzar.

 

Point 1 is rather annoying since it's "cheating".

I noticed there are some things which got fixed in the unofficial hotfix, but didn't find their way in SCS v9. (For example, the READ_* issue where the second param is supposed to read ~var_name~ but is ~%var_name%~ instead, which caused the BGT-SCS final battle bug. Or the hobgoblin shout fix, but this is not that important.)

So if you want to delete the attachment, go ahead, but for the moment I'll leave it there. (For comparision.)

Are you even sure you are getting the right file, as for example the G3 downloader says the file is exactly 1,088 kb big and the file I get is 1.4 Mb, but then again the scs-v8 was about 1.00Mb. With one of the links it says http://america.iegmc.net/g3/scs-v9.exe , but there is no such file in http://america.iegmc.net/g3/ ... just scs-v8.exe . :)

I *think* (famous last words) this will turn out to be harmless in the new version - at any rate, I've tested the final battle on a BGT install. If you think otherwise, let me know, though.

 

There's an error in the download size list which I should correct.

I just wanted to make sure nobody uses the (now outdated) hotfix, in case someone linked directly to the post with the attachement. (And the removal of the attachment would have prevented this.)

 

As for the READ_* thing: I only glanced quickly over the tp2/tph's so you will know better. In fact, I just did a quick grep to check if there are any occurrences of the READ_* statements that might lead to a bug.

There were two of them, one in endbattle.tph (L. 244, Diarmid) and one setup-scs.tph (L. 976, Minsc).

Not sure if these will bite you, but Sarevok should be fine. :)

 

/Edit:

The Diarmid one is unused so no worries there, but the other could cause some trouble if the itemslots offsets in gentho.cre and minscx.cre differ. (And the "Correct various errors on race ..." component is installed before "Move Boo ..." in the same installation procedure.)

Unofficial hotfix for v9(needs cookies enabled)

I've tried to fix the most critical bugs in SCS v9. While I was there, I incorporated some things I that I knew where not working from the previous version. If you find any critical/serious/grave bugs, let me know. Hopefully, David returns soon.

 

I'll probably make a new topic as soon as I am able to attach things. List of fixes follows as soon as I have enough time to create one.
