After playing several soldier sims, I'm inclined to agree with the "get your opinion" bit. Going to the Underdark? Get Viconia's help. Dealing with the Radiant heart dudes? Keldorn. Speaking about Lord Jierdan Firkraag? Nalia. How to handle the shadow Thieves? Imoen(after the rescue...) Dealing with Elhan, or Suldanessellar and elven trivia? Jaheira.

And also add a peacemaker mod, where you can simply tell them: "Look, I can see that you don't see eye to eye with <NAME>, but the success of this party depends on you working together." or something like that.
