Does Fixpack installation require a restart?

Recommended Posts

Guest Balasarius

I just started a new game of BG2 with ToB. I installed the following mods -

BG2 Detectable Stats

NPC Banter Pack

NPC Flirt Pack

eSeries AI scripts

BG2 Tweak Pack

I overlooked the Fixpack. :) Can I just install the Fixpack? Do I need to do a fresh install of BG2 and install the Fixpack first?

And most importantly, do I need to start the game over?

Thanks in advance.

You can run the installers again to uninstall, so if you uninstall them all, then install the fixpack, you can then reinstall all your other mods.

Yes, with those mods you have to begin the game again for their effect. And to miss out on CtDs.

Here's an old topic I need clarification to...

The word "those", does it refer only to the five mods the op had already installed, or does it also indicate that for the fixpack to take effect, you have to start the game over?

I started the game on a fixed Windows copy, then got a Mac version off Gog.com that I transferred my saved game to. Only after that I remembered to fix the Mac version too. Can I continue my original game on Mac with the fixpack working or do I have to start over? Readme says nothing about this and this is the only reference to the matter I found on a short googling.

It's always better to restart, since the save games contain some old state that can't be affected.
