Running BGII with wine using ubuntu

i downloaded wine and BGII with almost no problem. however when i start the game and the options to play, configure, exit, etc... i click on play and it acts like its starting up but nothing happens from there. very confusing since it gives me the option to play but falis to run when i hit play...any suggestions

Check the console output for hints.

This could be anything.

Huh, I just read your note again.

If you use wine, why do you need GemRB anyway?

 

If you used Wine only to install, you might need to create the save game directory, which isn't created (yet), automatically by GemRB.

How do i create the save game directory?

There's no gemrb in this picture, is it? For wine cd to the dir where BGMain.exe is and start it from there.
