ok. Wheels ideally goes before SCSII - some of the problem may come from that. Being the wrong side of Tweaks shouldn't matter.

When you say Balthazar's nowhere to be found, do you mean he's not at the monastery any more?

Link to comment

Yes, he's not at the monastery.

I tried cluaing balth.cre in the hopes of triggering something and a dialogue with Melissan (who's still waiting there doing nothing) kicked in, after which a fight ensued for the second time (the four adherents died but no bhaal-touched were spawned, oddly). This time though she was unkillable.

Btw, I've got a save just after the first fight with Melissan and before the dialogue with Balthazar, if you need it I could upload it.

Did a playthrough for the first time with this mod. The game froze at the cutscene after Gromnir is killed and Melissan is supposed to come out and talk. I ran it three times with the same result. I uninstalled the mod and the game ran fine.

Guest Glabro

After Balthazar's death (vanilla order of Abazigal-Sendai-Balthazar - I thought things were messed up when I visited Balthazar before killing either and he said I'd killed them), I'm not transported to the pocket plane to meet the Solar, instead Melissan shows up to gloat and teleport away. I can't do the fifth test. Is this normal, should I do something else?

Weidu.log: (somehow messed up - every time I re-install or uninstall a component, it uninstalls and reinstalls everything)

Ascension installed after Wheels of Prophecy? You're asking for trouble. It's even noted in the readme.

Right. So re-installing WoP will take care of that. Thanks.

Did a playthrough for the first time with this mod. The game froze at the cutscene after Gromnir is killed and Melissan is supposed to come out and talk. I ran it three times with the same result. I uninstalled the mod and the game ran fine.

Ace - don't know how I missed this back in June (possibly I was away at the time). What else did you have installed? (If you remember.)

Any news about that old problem?

Which one?

(I usually have a problem reproducing WoP bugs, as they're quite dependent on other mods installed.)

Balthazar not spawning and the other funky stuff.

I'm playing v2 and I've run into a series of oddities.

The order I intended to play the mod was: kill Abazigal, enter the Monastery to get Balthazar to join me, kill Sendai.

- I was in Abazigal's Enclave and got an entry in my journal telling me I needed to go to Amkethran to get some rope, but I'd already been given some it the captive monk.

- I just entered the Monastery and defeated Melissan after killing Abazigal. When Balthazar talks to me after the fight, at some point during the conversation i hit a "NO VALID REPLIES OR LINKS" message, and the dialogue breaks.

Managed to get through the conversation with Balthazar, even though many branches are broken. One of the options leads to him saying he'll join, but he actually kills himself and the game considers him dead for all purposes. Another leads to him saying he'll join the PC to fight Melissan. The he says that she did not resist capture and he'll have her brought in - despite us having already fought her. Dialogue ends, PC gets sucked to the pocket plane, dialogue with the solar flows smooth, PC goes back to the Monastery and Balthazar speaks again. This time he claims he doesn't know whether Melissan is really dead and where she is, I reply I'm ready to fight Sendai. Dialogue ends, Melissan and the four adherents appear out of the blue like in the cutscene - for the second time - but they just stand there and do nothing. At the same time a monk barges in and announces Sendai's army is in Amkethran. Balthazar teleports away, but the damned monk just won't shut up and starts the same dialogue over and over, until Balthazar is actually gone, then he runs to the PC and keeps saying his line. I had to ctrl-j away. *Player's head asplodes.* No, not really, but I'm worried my game is messed up beyond hope.

I'll go on and let you know if there are any other problems.

Okay:

(i) you're using a pretty out-of-date version of SCSII (the current version is v11) and I think the rope problem, at least, stems from that.

(ii) You should have Wheels of Prophecy much earlier in your install: it needs to go before SCSII.

(also, you have Fixpack, then Tactics, then Ascension; a better order is Ascension, then Fixpack, then Tactics - not that I think it makes too much difference. And RR should be before SCSII)
