Guest Phil
Firstly, much appreciation for all the hard work gone into replicating this game in Linux. My problem is that no GUI appear in the game to allow me progress further than the first dialogue. FYI I have python 2.5 on a FC8 distro. Several ERRORS occur in the console such as [GameControl]: More than one bottom window! and approx a dozen files are reorted missing, such as [KEYImporter]: Searching for tracking.2da...[ERROR] I have the 4cd version of the game patched to v1.1, do I need to do a full install or can I just mount the CD? Thanks in advance for any light anyone can shed on this Link to comment
Avenger
The two problems you wrote about are not real problems. They wouldn't block the engine,tracking.2da truly doesn't exist in PST, and the bottom window message is a completely fake warning (probably should be removed). If the engine breaks, it is more like about missing python scripts. Do you have any error messages from [GUIScript] ? Link to comment

Avenger
These are not as harmless, but they cannot break the initial dialog and they are not GUIScript, but GameScript problems. (Unimplemented triggers and actions). Link to comment
Guest Phil
So, would those python scripts be absent from my build of Gemrb or Python itself? Link to comment
Avenger
Sorry, i don't see any missing python script names reported by you. But if there is anything missing, it is highly likely it is just bad configuration. If python isn't configured/installed correctly, then you can see something about missing string.py (iirc) If you see other missing *.py files, like Start.py, or MessageWindow.py, then it is gemrb specific. Since you can start the game, you have all scripts in the right place and your config points there correctly too. It could be a case sensitivity problem. (Make sure CaseSensitive=1 is set in the cfg). Full install is needed. There is work done about asking for the right CD and automounting it, etc. But it isn't done yet. Link to comment
Guest Phil
Got it, it seems either the resolution was wrong or the bpp as changing them to 640x480, 32bpp respectively corrected things/ Again, much appreciation for all your hard work. Perhaps it could be worth documenting these paramerters may break the game? Link to comment
Avenger
Hmm, what parameters you used? Link to comment
