nataben1314
Hi... since the fixpack ruins Improved Mace of Disruption, which was a cornerstone weapon of my current game... this has ruined my current game until I can figure out how to fix it. I downloaded this file "BG2Fixpack_BWP_Fix_081210..7z" but I have no idea what file type it is, or what to do with it. I don't know what "unpack" means. Could someone tell me please in ultimate explicit noobish way how to use this "BG2Fixpack_BWP_Fix_081210..7z" file to fix my game? Do I just double click the file? Do I put it in my BG2 folder? Do I put it in my overrides folder??? What on earth do I need to do? I do not understand the "unpack" instruction at all. If it makes a difference I am just using BG2, SoA and ToB. I am not using BG1 or TUTU or any of those things. Also, once this fix is applied to I have to restart anything? Is it okay that my character has already forged the improved mace of disruption??? Please reply as soon as possible... I really want to be able to play my game... it was fun until I realized my main anti-undead weapon was suddenly crap. Thanks for this fixpack, even though this is a rather catastrophic error for me I still think the fixpack is awesome and it is amazing that you guys put so much work into it for no pay or anything... great work! Thanks!!! Link to comment

When I look at "properties" it comes up as an unknown file type. Do I need to download some software just to extract the thing? And where do I extract it to? My BG2 folder? My BG2 overrides folder? Some other folder? Link to comment

Some other folder? Did you try google ;ing the thing? Yes you need a software that can unzip the file. Basic info. Now, I would recommend Winrar, as it can extract .rar's, .zip's and .z7's among others and it's free. I would recommend to extract the files to a separate location as you might need to overwrite few files. Link to comment
nataben1314
okay... I extracted the files to a new folder on my desktop, but I have no clue whatsoever of what to do now. Link to comment
Mike1072
And where do I extract it to? My BG2 folder? My BG2 overrides folder? Some other folder? They should go in your BG2 folder after you've extracted the Fixpack there, and they will overwrite the old Fixpack files. However, I don't think they'll help much in your case, because they should be present before you install the Fixpack. You can reinstall the mod, but you run the risk of screwing up string references in your pre-existing save games. Your best bet would be to manually fix this or find someone who can tell you how to do so. I'd advise doing some research in the forums to find where the bug was discussed (I'm not very familiar with it) to see if you can find a solution or help there. Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
Well, if you really want to repair the weapon... but I have no clue whatsoever of what to do now. Well, if you have only the BG2Fixpack installed of the WeiDU mods, then just start the setup-bg2fixpack.exe and uninstall the components, once that's done, you copy and overwrite the Fixpack -folder in the game folder and files in it with the ones that come from the "BG2Fixpack_BWP_Fix_081210". After that you install the mod by starting the setup-bg2fixpack.exe again and choose the components, after which you need to restart the game. However, I don't think they'll help much in your case, because they should be present before you install the Fixpack. They need to be present before the WeiDU(@nataben1314: the program running in the black box) installs any of the components... as you can't put the files into the Fixpacks Auto-installer, meaning that you want to stop the auto-installer before it installs any of the components, or you have to uninstall the files. nataben1314
Major ouch. Well, I guess I'll just play on without a working IMoD, because I really don't think I want to restart my game and spend hours and hours getting back to where I was! Again, not mad at any of you guys for this... I can't write a paragraph in english without massive typos, I can't imagine doing coding where everything has to be so precise. Thanks so much for your help and for everyones work on this great fixpack! Link to comment
Leomar
I've included ScuD's fix like it was suggested: setup-bg2fixpack.tp2 END // FOR i2 effect fleshing WRITE_SHORT ("%ho%"+(0x28*"%i1%")+0x1e) 0x02 // effects for header i+1 FOR ("i3"="%i1%"; "%i3%"<"%hc%"; "i3"+=1) BEGIN READ_SHORT ("%ho%"+(0x28*"%i3%")+0x20) "ix" // search later header indices PATCH_IF ("%ix%">0) THEN BEGIN WRITE_SHORT ("%ho%"+(0x28*"%i3%")+0x20) (("%ix%"-"%ec%")+0x02) // Fix by ScuD END // PATCH_IF END // FOR i3; rewriting ability effect indices END // FOR i1 END // PATCH_IF filesize check BUT_ONLY_IF_IT_CHANGES // COPY_EXISTING Greetings Leomar Link to comment

Leomar
The "BWP v6.1 Fix" from 08-12-22 is included in the BiG World Project v5.6 now. Greetings Leomar Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
The "BWP v6.1 Fix" from 08-12-22 is included in the BiG World Project v5.6 now. So it's inside the BWPFixpack, meaning that we don't need it anymore, just the BG2Fixpack v6? Link to comment
Leomar
So it's inside the BWPFixpack, meaning that we don't need it anymore, just the BG2Fixpack v6? Right, you need only "BG2 Fixpack v6" and "BiG World Fixpack v6.0.6". If you want to install "BG2 Fixpack v6" only without the "BiG World Fixpack" you can download and use the "BWP v6.1 Fix" like it is described in the first post. Greetings Leomar Link to comment
