Little Help Here...

I'm trying to install the NPC mod here, because I seriously want to play through several of the romances (namely Xan's and Coran's). Downloading, no problem. After figuring out what I was supposed to type in to get the file saved to the correct folder, everything went off without a hitch.

Until I reached the point where you've said yes or no to whatever components you want installed, and are asked to install the BG1NPC Project: Required Modifications. I said Install, it replied with FAILURE, stopping installation because of error, ERROR, and repeated the question.

Now, I'm what I refer to as 'technologically illiterate', so I don't quite know how to show you exactly what I'm looking at here. But I can tell you that I'm trying to install this for the original BG game alone, because SoA is not available to me right now and I can't take the original 5-disc set back to my own computer at college, which has SoA installed, because this copy doesn't belong to me. What the heck do I need in order to install this mod and play it? Do I REALLY need to download and install mods like EasyTuTu or Tutu just to install it, or bring my SoA discs here and install them? Or is it possible to get the romance and banter mods I want separately, without installing the whole thing?

Frankly, any help would be appreciated.

BG1 NPC Project is not for BG1. It requires Tutu or BGT.

What Mike1072 said :( It absolutely, categorically, and thoroughly will not install or work with Baldur's Gate. It will only install and work with Tutu, EasyTutu, or BGT conversions of Baldur's Gate (where BG content in migrated into the BG2 engine).

If you want, install Baldur's Gate to a flashdrive (disk on key, whatever you would like) and then add SoA and do the conversion when you get back to school. There is also still a combined DVD game version floating about; finding BG as a standalone profduct at this point might be a liiitle difficult (not to mention expensive )
