Bri Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 What can I say, this is a very good start on your story. And yes, one with a tiefling and aasimar heritage would certianly be an outsider. You did a commendable job tying Duncan and Daeghun with Amara's mother in the first chapter. And yes, I especially liked this small aside: But it comforted me to think that if I could not be beautiful, I would settle on being powerful, fierce, and widely feared. ...Once I got shoes.
Arker Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Brings tears of joy to my eyes at the thought of Bishop at the end of chapter 7. When I go through OC, I always have to fight him and Qara-Spoiler. Given I would have killed him just to mute him.
Raenemon Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Brings tears of joy to my eyes at the thought of Bishop at the end of chapter 7. When I go through OC, I always have to fight him and Qara-Spoiler. Given I would have killed him just to mute him. That was the reaction I was hoping for. It's hard to lower Bishop to levels of depravity and deviousness that hasn't been done before, but I like a challenge. So please, keep the comments coming.
Raenemon Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I've been doing some editing of previous chapters, but I could edit all day... I keep re-visiting the ending I've written (as in what happens through the re-working of the OC and MOB). It would be nice to know what sort of lose ends from these campaigns people would like to see 're-knotted.' For example, I've already made a revived Cormick the main squeeze for Amara and gave him a meatier role in the OC. I did that in part because such a big deal of Cormick is made in the Tutorial, but then he just disappears---poof. Realistically, if he was ever a threat to Lorne, he has to have something...like a smile, a wit, and a way with people (and a greatsword). And I love the fact that in the OC he seems to be worshipped in West Harbor, while the PC isn't . That's just great writing! The original romantic interests are there, but well, a bit more complex. With Cormick, that was like creating a new character, so I enjoyed doing what I liked with him. With Bishop and Casavir, well, almost every lady who's played the game has rather strong feeling for/against both of those fellows; there's a fanfic for every romantic inclination. I'm 'Bishop's Romance' made the relationship with Bishop appealing, but Casavir, the one I imagined, got his own points of interest...I like writing both of them. I hope my depiction of them is unique. And...I hope people who like/hate both with still find surprises. For other companions, I haven't wanted to re-invent the wheel too much. The Khelgar I depict is not very different from the OC because I already fell in love with him the first time I played the game. I don't do anything really with Elanee, Qara, and Grobnar because frankly, I didn't interact with them in the game, and so I haven't had the energy to re-interpret them in the story. Yet I have enjoyed re-visiting Esmerelle, Daeghan, Duncan, Shandra, Nevalle, Neeshka, Sand, Torio, Ammon, and some others (you'll see them later on).
