Guest Frein
So, I've tried to take on the improved Kangaxx a few times now, and since he seems to have an ass load of PMWs and likes to remain Improved Invisible for the majority of the fight, to boot, I can never kill him before he soul traps everyone except my protagonist (monk). At this point he is completely out of offensive spells. This is not a huge problem because my monk has significant magic resistance and can finish him off alone, though it takes ages (several minutes) to hack though all the Stoneskins, which is highly annoying. Eventually I change into the Slayer and kill him (because with the Daystar he can't overcome Kangaxx's regeneration), go buy a Freedom scroll and recruit Edwin to cast it. This works well except Keldorn seems to always permanently die from Trap Soul. The first time he ate one he left the party but instead of being imprisoned, he just died there and his body could be seen after the battle. The second time he was petrified and instantly shattered to a million pieces. Does Kangaxx have something against Keldorn? Everyone else get imprisoned as they should but Keldorn always seems to die permanently. I'd also like to mention an issue with Faldorn. When Cernd challenged her to a duel, all she did was repeatedly cast Improved Invisibility without using any offensive magic. I had to wait for all the invisibilities to wear off before Cernd could kick her ass. Link to comment
Guest newuser
I dont no what causes this, but I think that Monk's Magic Res. shouldnt protect from Imprisonment. Or SCSII changes Kangaxx's Impr. spell? Link to comment
Guest Guest_Frein_*
I dont no what causes this, but I think that Monk's Magic Res. shouldnt protect from Imprisonment. Or SCSII changes Kangaxx's Impr. spell? As far as I can tell, Kangaxx does not target the PC with Trap Soul (he no longer casts Imprisonment in Demilich form in SCSII). It seems like the ability is designed to be a time limit on the fight: He starts trapping people when it's taken you too long to kill him. In any case, I was able to kill him with a higher level party now. Keldorn was once again hit by Trap Soul but he did not die from it this time and I was able to release him with a cast of Freedom. Frein
Oh yes, I forgot to mention one discovery I made. Kangaxx (Demilich) seems to become immune to Breach once his hitpoints go low enough. I got him to Near Death, then he again cast PMW, to which I responded with Breach but it had no effect. I figured he must have snuck a protection spell in there but I'm just not seeing the animation, so I Ruby Ray'd it (or perhaps it was Spell Strike) just in case, but again Breach had no effect and Kangaxx was free to regenerate back to almost full as I was unable to remove his combat protectiosn from there on. I'm not sure if this is a bug or an intended feature. Link to comment
