Is Game Text Update/Fix causing bug with physical mirror?

When Jaheria used "physical mirror" spell, the spell itself took effect. I tested it by having my PC throw a dart at her, which was reflect back correctly to my PC.

 

HOWEVER, Jaheira's class name was changed from "Fighter / Druid" to "I'm sorry none of them sound familiar ,: " for "fighter" and "druid" in her status screen (also changed "Fighter / Druid" title to that phrase).

 

Is this a known bug? It's not a horribly game breaking problem, but I just found it odd.

Sorry... it must have been caused by another mod. Just uninstalled / reinstalled BG2 / ToB, and tested it with just the official patch and fixpack installed. There were no problems.

Well, found out what mod was responsible.

 

If anyone's interested, it was Ascension mod (1.4.23).

 

Tried installation with BGFix with text update, BGFix without text update, and Baldurdash (seperately, of course), and the error came up every time.

General consensus is that Ascension (which is very old indeed) should be installed before everything, even the BG2 Fixpack.

Not sure that would help here. The spell may still be interestingly broken cosmetically. (And I still prefer fixpack before - suitably hacked - ascension.)

 

A sure fix would be deleting ascension/spl/copy/sppr613.spl before running setup-ascension.exe.

Yes, after you have extracted all your mods in the BG2 main directory, install the BiG World Fixpack there, too and then install your mods. The BW Fixpack have Ascension fixes included, to work better with BG2 Fixpack.
