The Gibberlings committee has decided to pull this thread for the time being - this is not a shift in policy, just a protective measure. In both the US and UK, discussion of criminal activity isn't ok. We appreciate the feeling of openness that allows members to feel comfortable enough to post what they feel they need to - we just need time to discuss this.

Totally! That said, I wouldn't protest too loudly. All the recent spam was probably orchestrated by ace and cmorgan and their Russian criminals thugs, and they might send them out to bust your kneecaps.

Maybe if I hadn't been so consistently crotchety lately, but it's probably best not to push it. All Russians, everywhere, would have hated me, but I still laughed. So far, the only thing that comes close is the travesty (or I should say, the highway robbery to be precise) that took place between TheWizard and a particularly odd Hungarian gentleman, but I thought almost everyone forgave Baro and moved on... Am i to presume that spambot that started the thread, wasn't really a bot after all?

Borsook and Evaine Dian met in real life IIRC. It did not go well, in ways that were apparently not consensual. It seems icelus knew the details, enough to remember decades later at least, and maybe a few other people, but nobody else figured out what the fuck was all going on.

It was fine with me as long as people thought it was just a silly joke (though everything I wrote was the sick, sad truth, even the hypogenitalism), but as soon as Icelus suggested the butt claim was not entirely "random", but sort of true, I got pissy. This is not about a "feud", "unhappiness", unrequited infatuation, a casual fling or an abysmal performance in the bedroom, but some of your comments made it sound as if it was just that instead of a fucking crime, and I can't have that. That's why I posted an explanation, leaving out the truly perverted shit, though I must admit I was itching to write more. As for the "huge risks to the community", sorry about that. If this is about being sued for libel - I doubt Boresuck would want to sue you, seeing that he tucked his tail into his vagina and ran away as soon as he realised that I wouldn't put up with his shit anymore, and it pisses me off that some people think I mustn't call a spade a spade, but whatever, your decision. If this is about something else, I wouldn't know, I'm neither from the US nor the UK.

You don't have anything to apologise for, and there's absolutely no intention on anyone's part to imply anything one way or another about something that happened before Ace and cmorgan and I were around. We fucked up tbh - I assumed it was a spambot that had picked a couple of names at random out of the membership list, and woke up rather late to the fact that it wasn't.

Just discussion and evaluation, folks - nothing has been deleted, just temporarily moved so we can get input from all active Gibberlings. G3 group decision, not any one moderator - we generally err on the side of "do nothing". "Huge risks" are more personal than getting the site shut down, too - in this multi-lingual ESL environment there is huge opportunity for people to unknowingly or unwittingly make a joke of stuff that is no joke, hurting other people for real. Obviously, the conversation is continuing outside while we discuss inside, and we generally don't do this kind of thing, so it is awkward all around, but we need to do this.

I too thought it was a bot. For future reference I would advise that anyone reading this thread (should it stay up) remember that if there is a post that you feel is personally offensive and aimed at you, feel free to report it to any of the Gibbs as we do look at them. cmorgan's reference to "do nothing" refers to most debate threads that have the tendency to get out of hand but we prefer to go with a "no censor" policy anyway, as long as the environment stays relatively healthy and relevant to the topic being discussed. As always, try to use common sense when posting.
