Guest Icarian Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Has anyone finished both? Which one is more interesting?
Guest Icarian Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Their arguments are escalating, and I need to make a choice fast. Any info would be much appreciated.
Guest Mimic Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Honestly? I found Dyna to be a know it all and Branwen to be an idiot with an identity crisis. No offense to the authors because I know they put a lot of work into it, but I just just did not find the romances to be all that interesting. I especially hated it when Dyna "knew" things whenever something about my PCs heritage came up. It was annoying. Everytime she did it I would CTRL-Y her. Either way, I would just ignore both if I were you.
berelinde Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I'm female, but I enjoyed Dynaheir's romance enormously. It was deeper, I think, and had some incredibly sensual moments. Whereas you could tell Branwen her armor made her butt look fat. Why not play through with both in the party for a while, and decide for yourself? You'll probably choose one over the other before you are forced to make a choice.
Domi Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 If you don't find the romances interesting why don't you just cut them both out? You are obviously annoyed by both, so what's the point of persisting?
cmorgan Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 From a content perspective, Dynaheir has more (and has a post-Sarevok - pre - BG2 cutscenes on EasyTutu/Tutu installs). I have done serial romancing of Branwen until her regular content runs out, then given up her romance (not seeing her chapter-specific or area-specific talks) and gone through Dy's full sequence. My personal preference is Dynaheir, but I play LG paladin good boys, so your mileage may vary.
berelinde Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I misunderstood your question. I thought you were planning which one to romance, not that you had both in the party and hadn't decided which one you wanted to keep. Well, if you haven't formed an opinion by now, you can always just let nature take its course and keep whichever one doesn't dump you. Or ditch both and have a go at Shar-Teel.
Guest Icarian Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I ended up picking Dynaheir, and I think I made the right choice. I'm playing a paladin (primarily due to SCS spellcaster imbalance at the early levels), so Shar-Teel just wouldn't be fitting. That, and I'm not terribly fond of either the character, or her portrait(s). In my opinion, the evil romance should have been Viconia or Safana (or both) instead.
Gibberer Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Spoiler request: When's the moment of truth in choosing and is there a risk of inadvertantly ending the choice with a response to either of them? Other than the obvious "you're not my type" rejoinder? Feel free to email me if you don't want to give anything away.
berelinde Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Cmorgan is the expert on Dynaheir's romance, but IIRC, most of the romances went "committed" sometime between LT12 and LT 16.
