Kit Revisions (Fighters)

I'd prefer a little more variety for the Kensai. I'm not that bothered with how good the AI is with un-unified abilities, as I'm mainly seeing it as a PC-kit. Will even any NPCs be kitted as Kensais?

I don't care much about NPCs otoh, I care about enemies kitted as kensais. :D

And if you create a Kensai in Candlkeep, NOT dual him; but keep him as a true class to ToB, you deserve something big.

Doh on my side. Didn't mean NPC's, I also meant enemies kitted as kensais (as NPC = PC when it comes to kits) >_<

So to rephrase; are there any enemies kitted as kensai? Mod-dependent?

Yeah, SCS kits a few of enemies as kensais. Afaik there's no other mod which does that, certainly not in a way as SCS (completely following kit's ability table).

Wizard Slayer item restrictions

I am playing BG2EE with latest versions of KR and IR installed, among other mods. In the Wizard Slayer description it says that he cannot use heavy armor and large shields, but nothing about other magical items.

In my game he cannot use Ring of Protection +1, Golden Girdle and similar items. Is there a compability problem between IR and KR?

@Kreso, you are using a WS yourself aren't you? Have you found any similar issue?

Demi, I've been wondering if the current KR build has those nice lengthy kit descriptions implemented for multiclasses as well. In my current game, for example, kit description for Jaheira mentions only that "it combines abilities of both fighter and druid", not telling anything about any particular features.

Goes (as an example) like this for all multi-classes:

Bh6Jp3F.png

Is it something messed up in my install or it is to be implemented yet? At least special ability descriptions added (like on offensive\defensive stances) could be very handy.

P.S.: posting this in fighters thread because I'm silly and because all of those multi-classes charname encounters throughout the Sword Coast are usually half-fighters somehow.

Is it something messed up in my install ?

No, it's fine. Agreed, these descriptions should be changed. Not sure how - there's a limit in text used here. And once (in your case) druids get revised, the description which covers both of the classes fully is likely to be very long.

I believe the Lore-wise description could be taken out for Multi-classes, just leaving the practical description, or make a new Lore-wise one that is shorter and specific for the multi-class.

Wizard Slayer

I think that the WS in it's current incarnation is completely overpowered. There should be a save vs. Disruptive Strike, just like there is with Carsomyr. As it is, a WS can completely demolish any mage within one or two rounds.

Kensai

I like the general feel and concept of the character, but I think the Kai Pool abilities would work much better if they were made into individual abilities. As it is, you are always trading one against the other, and movement is just not preferable to maximum damage per hit.

Individually, they are all fine and interesting, but they would work much better, if they were split into individual abilities in my opinion. Maybe with a new use of one ability each level, so that each of them are gained at different levels.

There is a way to make scripting aware what type of armor you are wearing. OnEuip, summon invis creature that toggles a global that you are wearing light, medium or heavy armor.

Make unarmored-0, light-1 medium-2 and heavy-3.

So, in the script for the creature, have it give you +dam resist for the armor type you are wearing and remove dam resist for the type you were wearing. So, changing armors is handled.

You will need a script in baldur.bcs to check itemslot for armor. If it is empty, remove the bonuses you had.

Of course, this needs to be scripted for all 6 players.

I assume you're talking about Armor Training, i.e. different resistance bonus depending on what type of armor is equipped?

Scripting indeed works, but... let's say, we never seriously considered it as an option. Prime among the reasons is that changing party composition will break the variable framework. It can be circumvented, one way or another, but it's just not robust enough.
