Domi
Well, there are a number of writers that I would recommend before Salvatore. While Salvatore definetly hit the nerve with his Drizzt and it made his rich and successful, he is by no means a decent writer. His style is wooden, his plots are repetitive, and his characters a card-board 1 D cutouts, that work on the level of arhtypes, and that only for a while. The best fantasy (in my opinion, obviously): G.R.R. Martin "A Song of Ice and Fire G.G. Kay Anything but Fionavar (The Lions of Al Rassan being my favorite) Good Fantasy: R. Hobb "Farseers", "Tawny Man" and "Livesheep Traders" series T. William's "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" series OKay Fantasy: R. Jordan "The Wheel of Time" series. Link to comment
Grand_Dracolich
I thought he was good, at least up to par with Brian Jacques... Anyway, lets get back to the thread. Link to comment
