Sayne
So... I installed this mod with my newest install of EasyTutu, and I can't get NPCs to start a level 1. The proficiency stuff worked, as did the "NPC match PC experience" but they still start at the level matching the experience they (and my PC) have. Now I initially didn't enter any modifications of NPCs in the game because I couldn't remember any of their stats and I didn't want to screw them up. Is that required to have the NPCs start from level 1? The readme isn't clear. If so that didn't work either. One of my saves was in Beregost, so I edited Garrick (edited him to have default proficiencies), loaded the save in Beregost and picked him up and he started at level 4 just like my PC. Here's my WeiDU.log ...it's long. Level 1 NPCs at the end. Also, it's not listed in the conflicts section of BG2 Tweak Pack or Level 1 NPCs, but I assume the TOB Style NPCs from BG2 Tweak Pack will conflict / be over written by Level 1 NPCs? I didn't install it for that reason. Aranthys
Yes, you have to modify them for them to start at level 1. If you want, there's a template that i did here for that, that enters some common modifications for NPCs : Feel free to modify it as much as you want : http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?s...st&p=149722 If you have any non-standard NPC installed, this will probably not work very well, but it should be easy for you to add the new NPC and to configure it. erik
Once you have entered the map where you meet the NPC in question, it is too late to modify them with level1npcs - they've already been created and saved in your save game. And yes, you must change the npc - to the same class they already are, if you want - in order to have them start at level 1. Pick up an updated level1npcs.tp2, by the way ... I'm up to version 1.2eib9 these days fix relevant for easytutu: fighter/druid proficiencies. Link to comment
Sayne
OK that's good to know. So if I wanted just to have an NPC start normally yet still be able to level them up myself, will TOB style NPCs from BG2 Tweaks do the same thing or will it conflict and cause my PC to catch fire? I know that's not your mod... so feel free to make fun of me for a dumb question. ^_^ I'm mostly just being lazy - I could load up NPC character sheets from about a dozen websites and manually enter them in if I wanted to. Great mod, I clearly just didn't know how to use it. ^_^ About the updated Level1npcs.tp2: the one I have is the one from the current full version on G3 (unless BWP fixpack screwed up the file, which would annoy me), if there's a new file out there I didn't know about it. Leomar
^_^ If you use Level1 NPCs with ToB style NPCs from BG2 Tweaks together some weird things will happen: ToB style NPCs will alter all joinable NPCs to join in the same fashion as Throne of Bhaal, where NPCs immediately level-up upon joining. This component will be overwritten by the Sword Coast Stratagems' component "Allow player to choose NPC proficiencies and skills" regardless of the order of the installation. ToB style NPCs is not compatible with the Level1 NPCs mod as it won't run it's script to the finish, and you'll end up with + 20 hit points but without any proficiency points from the level 1, with most of the NPCs. Level1 NPCs however has a similar and better component “Joinable NPCs more closely match the player character's experience?†which will be installed instead. And you can't level up from level 1 with the BG2 Tweaks component. The only component which does it is "Joinable NPCs more closely match the player character's experience" from SCSI. But here we have no experience with it, if you can install Level1 NPCs with the SCSI component together and if it works correctly all the time in-game. Greetings Leomar Link to comment
Aranthys
Level1 NPC has its own "Level yourself" component, that works for both modified and unmodified NPCs upon joining. There's no point in using SCS or BG2Tweaks component with the one from LVL1Npcs. Link to comment
