Aurelian
I hope that this is the right place to post this. I've recently reinstalled BG1 for a playthrough, and this time I'm trying out BGTrilogy with the NPC Project and accompanying music, as well as Unfinished Business. Everything's gone swimmingly except for one thing: Minsc's soundset is mixed up. He apparently hates having our reputation improve, uses his "Hamsters and Rangers rejoice!" as his battlecry, and dies complaining that I've given him too much hold in his arms. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way to fix this without nuking my current playthrough (I'm in Chapter 4 at this point... so it wouldn't be the end of the world to restart, but I'd really, really rather not have to)? I installed BGT, then the NPC pack, then UB, if that helps at all. I'm running this on my old desktop, so it's Windows 2000, if you need to know that, as well. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
cmorgan
It sounds like he needs a voice-fixer run - try this. If you installed the PID's (Player Initiated Dialogs), talk to him (force click him) and bring up that dialog. One of the options will say something like "Minsc, you voice sounds strange..." Follow that branch, and BG1NPC's "voice fixer" for Minsc should reset him. If other thinsg start happening wrong, obne of two things has happened: 1. you started a game, installed/reinstalled stuff, and then kept using the save (or moved an old save into a new modded install) 2. something went wrong with the mod installation (probably either permissions settings, more than one mod command prompt window open at one time, an editor open, or just plain bad luchk). If either 1 or 2, the safest answer is to roll back to a clean vanilla install, then add back the mods, and start a new game. Link to comment

I did do an install after starting, but I figured it was early enough that it wouldn't impact anything. I think I'm going to restart, as annoying as that is. Oh well. Can't be helped! Thanks!
