Guest guest Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Er, bit of a long title. But my issue is about that drow (cannot remember his name...but he is named, not just 'drow mage' or something) standing somewhere around the middle of the city of suldanesellar, who mentions the curfew imposed when you come across him and then proceeds to try and skin you alive; I found him to be quite the opponent...he cast 3 timestops against me, in quick succession (actually, i think consecutively, without pause after each one, so i was locked out for all 3 timestops duration with no gaps in between) and I found this pretty harsh. I did survive the encounter since I had 3 of those seleton warriors nearby turned to my side via Viconia just prior to this engagement, and they sure helped a lot (I think these were perhaps not "summoned" per se, as they were put in the game as part of that little scene attacking some elves, and hence maybe death spells would not have worked on them - if they were summoned, and the drow could/would have cast death spell...well, I doubt very much I'd have lived through that barrage) but while I got the guy (and his gated demon) in the end, I'm kind of nervous that i'll come up against such cheese with all the high level mages I come across, is this so? I'm only now getting to end game SoA/Tob and so these high level spells are only now coming into play. I just need to check if triple consecutive timestops will be the order of the day from here on out...
DavidW Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Er, bit of a long title. But my issue is about that drow (cannot remember his name...but he is named, not just 'drow mage' or something) Raamilat. I'm kind of nervous that i'll come up against such cheese with all the high level mages I come across, is this so? I just need to check if triple consecutive timestops will be the order of the day from here on out... Well, I don't deliberately give anyone three timestops, but a mage who has them will certainly cast them; and I do swap some spells for Timestop. However, Raamilat's a bit unusual in having three Timestops. Almost no-one else does; two, though, isn't uncommon. (Ultimately, this is SCS's design philosophy: use those resources available to you as effectively as possible. Timestop is very powerful; why wouldn't a high-level mage use it this way?)
