Guest Amenity Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I've never played Baldur's gate, and I ordered it on amazon. I haven't got it yet, but i'm just wondering. Should I install this for my very first play through?
jastey Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 It depends: If you are someone who can play the same game for more and new content again, then I would always recommend playing the original game first. If you prefer having a lot of party member interaction, dialogues, conflicts, romances etc. and in addition might not want to play the main storyline again to see it, then adding BG1NPC project for the first playthrough might be a good idea. In general, I recommend playing the original game first before adding mods, though.
nurgles_herald Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 BG1NPC makes the original BG1 boring. BG2 makes every other game ever made boring. It's a cruel world, after all. But yeah, you should just play with BG1NPC. It has its detractors but, for the most part, it's a quality enterprise, and makes the two games much more coherent and comparable in party interaction.
berelinde Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 If you've played BG2 first, you probably won't be able to get through BG1 without BG1 NPC. You'll be used to character interaction that unmodded BG1 just doesn't have. If you've never played any BG game, then I'd try it first without mods.
