Guest Tallin
First off, this is really a great mod. I love that I can play all my IE games in widescreen. The one thing that bugs me, though, is the movie files, particularly PS:T and BG1. Now, I realize Fallout 1 and 2 have run on a different engine, however the movie files are in the same format. If you play those games using the Hi-Res patch, you'll notice that the MVE files fill the whole screen while maintaining the aspect ratio. It may be the engine itself won't allow this change in IE games, but perhaps you could get in touch with "Mash" Matt Wells and see if something similar can be implemented for this mod: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php...mp;file_id=1261 Again, thanks for all your work on this mod. It really is appreciated... Link to comment

DavidW
I actually don't understand this: how can a movie fill a screen of a different shape whilst maintaining the same aspect ratio? Link to comment
Miloch
I actually don't understand this: how can a movie fill a screen of a different shape whilst maintaining the same aspect ratio?I think the movies are 16:9 and have black borders whether you're viewing them on a traditional or widescreen monitor. So in theory if you zoomed them to fill the whole screen on a widescreen monitor, they'd maintain the same aspect ratio. Link to comment
Guest Tallin
I actually don't understand this: how can a movie fill a screen of a different shape whilst maintaining the same aspect ratio? It's not particularly difficult, nor is it a new concept. Both nVidia and ATI have options for this if a game is not the native aspect ratio of a fixed pixel display (LCD or Plasma). You can set the resolution to resize to the monitors native resolution while maintaining the aspect ratio, leaving black bars on the side if it is a 4:3 or 16:10 image on a 16:9 monitor, or on the top and bottom if it is a 16:9 resolution on a 16:10 or 4:3 display. Basically, you make it stretch to fill as much of the screen as possible while keeping the aspect ratio. The person who created the Fallout patches I linked to (just take of the last part of the link, then you can navigate to the HD patches) made them so the movies in this game scale to the resolution the game is set to. The movie files for Fallout and the IE games are the same format (MVE, or Interplay Movie Format). Therefore, I was wondering if he might be able to help get the movies in IE games (particularly PS:T) to do the same thing, instead of just centering or sitting in the corner... Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
The file you point at doesn't exist? The mod was probably updated and the previous version deleted... you need to look for the second one from the top from this list(Fallout2 High Resolution Patch 2.2 )... if I interpreted the meaning right.
