Alundra Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 i know this looks like a stupid question and it should be simple enough, but im new to PC gaming and im stumped. ive just started BG1 and ive installed the hardtimes mod and sword coast strategens mod- now i want to uninstall them, but cant figure it out. i ran the setup for scs- but something goes wrong and it says to email the creator. for hardtimes , i only see the option to install. i also tried to uninstall easytutu- but that wont run because im missing a "." file my final option is to go into the registry- but i really dont want to do that at my skill level. anyway- any help will be appreciated or maybe a modding Faq on installing, changing and unistalling will help thank you. i want to use mods, but i also want the freedom to change modules- so far ive screwed up my game. **also any tips on what mods to use for a first time BG player would be appreciated
Mike1072 Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 As mentioned in your other topic, your uninstall difficulties were caused by deleting your mod folders. This is where the mod installation program stores the backups of files from before the mod was installed, so without them, there's no way to restore your install to its previous state. To uninstall components of a mod X, you should have run the setup-X.exe program in your appropriate BG directory.
