Bg2 Install problem

I decided to uninstall the game because I was sure I had a mod problem with widescreen.

And upon re-installing, sometimes the installer wont run, and if it does, at around 33% it gives me a component transfer error message as follows:

hd0_data

D:/data2.cab

data error cyclic redundancy check

Now, maybe that doesn't mean anything to you. But it seems screwy that I have now re-installed windows vista(no problems before with vista), and i still get the same message even though the entire system should be clear.

There are wondows.old files, but i doubt that has anything to withit, because as last systems files, they shouldn't be installed

If anyone has any thoughts, or more importantly knows how I can just manually fixit/overide it, please help.

It sounds like your CD is dirty, scratched, or otherwise can't be read. Try cleaning it and putting it in a different CD-ROM drive if you have one.
