Hotfix for version 3

Put this in your sarahtob/dialogue folder and reinstall. You don't need to start a new game, just make sure you have a save (or can set the variables) to before the "Did you know your mother" talk.

Just to varify unzip that file in sarahtob/dialog folder then run the setup and reinstall.

 

Do I need to uninstall first?

 

I resaved over my old saves after the "mother" talk because I finally got "romanceactive 1" so I'll need to change my variables. What should I change them too?

Delete romanceactive

Change talkfriend to 5?

change any timers ?

No uninstall is necessary, just reinstall after extracting the files to the appropriate folder.

You could set the friendship variables back, but it's the timers that I'm not comfortable telling you to mess with because I don't want to ruin your game. I suppose an "attempt at your own risk" warning would be sufficient here.

I may need to resatart anyway at this point. I already tried removing the romance variables and setting the friendships back but nothing happened everything seemed to work but no more talks . Maby I'll screw around with the timers but I also was thinking about trying Arora's Shoes mod as well so a restart wouldn't be the end of the world.

And if you don't want to wait all over again for her romance to kick in, but still want to see the talks, you can always console those in too. AdvanceRealTime(999999) is usually safer than messing with the variable numbers themselves...at least in my experience.

I just finished PST and allow me to say: Best. Game. Ever. I am overwhelmed by the amazing storytelling.

 

But after all this barmy stuff, coming back to being a child of the Lord of Murder and having a sweet ranger companion should feel like home. Ahhh, the simple things...

I'm afraid I didn't really like PST. The storyline was mildly interesting to me but I think it has more to do with the fact that I waited so long to play it, when I was playing other games that held my interest longer for whatever reason.

 

Still, nice to see that coming back to BG is relaxing.
