Exactly which patch will I have to install to use the widescreen mod?

Hi there, I've just installed the widescreen mod and it's working beautifully with Baldur's Gate 2 but not at all with Baldur's Gate. I read the troubleshooting thread which says this is likely to do with my three CD release of the game and recommends that I download a non direct x 8 patch.

 

I'm afraid I don't really know what patch I should be downloading, would anyone be able to help me? I'd really appreciate the help.
