Guest dannyp Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I've installed a vanilla bg2 and tob. When I run the bg2 fixpack v8 it asks me what language to proceed in and if i want the optional but cool fixes..but when it asks me whether or not I want to install the core fixes it fails to go on. It shows: set_string 72757 out of range 0 -- 62206 stopping installation because of error stopping installation because of error what is causing this? should i tr the baldurdash fixpack instead, i just want to playthrough hte agme with stackable arrows and identified items, would the baldurdash fixpack have that?
Guest dannyp Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 also i am on a netbook and i did actually install one mod before; that was the dungeon be gone mod. I uninstalled it and tried it again but same error. Maybe i should try restarting my cmoputer since i have not done that since i installed the game?
Nythrun Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 The error means none of the text associated with the Throne of Bhaal expansion is there in your game; check to make sure the expansion really is installed and that you have not overwritten dialog.tlk with Baldurdash's version. Rebooting will not help. Neither fixpack nor Baldurdash will allow you to stack 60,000 arrows in your pockets; try this instead.

I don't remember installing the baldurdash pack, infact on the baldurdash website i couldnt even find a download link for a bg2 fixpack when i looked to see if i had done so. Is there anyway I could get a vanilla dialog.tlk. Is it on one of the discs or?? I dont remember installing any other fixpack or anything but im not totally ruling that out.
Nythrun Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Is there anyway I could get a vanilla dialog.tlk. Try here. Though you may need to reinstall if there were other files not copied over due to access restrictions, read-only flags, or other Windows goo.
