Guest Flari
First of all, I love this mod and Baldur's Gate 2 looks awesome at 1920x1080. Big thanks to all the devs and people who worked on this. First of all, are there any mods that will fill in the black space in menus etc? Also, is there any way to make the text bigger while still keeping the high resolution? I like how the game looks at 1920x1080, but the text becomes super small, to the point where I have to move my head closer to the monitor to read it. I also had a weird problem with trying to set it a bit lower. I tried 1600x900, and in fullscreen it looked extremely messed up, like it was in CGA colour and showing maybe 1/4 of the screen off to the side. If I put windowed mode it worked fine. Any ideas? Thanks for any help, and thanks again for this awesome mod. Link to comment
Guest Flari
Well, I figured out the weird colour problem... apparently it does that if you select a different resolution with the widescreen mod than your desktop resolution. As I figured, just like any other game it looks horrible on a widescreen LCD on anything but the native res. So this leaves me with the problem of the text being a bit too small to read. Any way to make that bigger? Link to comment
Guest Flari
Apparently I like to answer my own questions. So, I found the larger font mod, which is awesome and fixes the problem with small text. If anyone wants it, it's here: http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=38626 The only problem I have is this. Is there a way to fix the weird crap in the text box? Example here, sorry for the large pic, make sure you see the pic in full size to see what I mean: I'm still looking for a GUI that fills in the black space in menus too, thanks!! Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
I'm still looking for a GUI that fills in the black space in menus too, thanks!! Which? BGT or BG1Tutu/EasyTutu? Cause the BGT-WeiDU comes with it's own GUI program called BGT-GUI.exe that you can use to install any of the former Big mods GUIs, of course you need the primary mods installed and in the right order so they game works without the CtD's, but the BWS will habndle all the instyallation for you, if you don't wish to fish. There is two that I know for Tutus, the LadeJarl's Tutu GUI v1.8 and the plain version of it. There are few others GUIs in the community, they all work only with the BG2 games(and in BGT/BG1Tutu/EasyTutu), there's BG2 Skin mod, and W_GUI... and no, they won't extend into outher extrimeties of the inventoty etc windows, but do on the normal movement window... as long as you install them before the Widescreen mod! And as a warning, if you do install them after you have installed the Widescreen mod(and fail to remove it), your GUI will be cheesed up... big time. And remember to set the games view to be 1024x768 from the BGConfig.exe, so you'll get the biggest GUI... before anything else. Link to comment
Guest Flari
Hey, thanks. I did forget to mention that I'm using BGT. I opted to install everything manually rather than use BWP I tried BGT-Gui.exe but it didn't seem to do anything about the black space in the backgrounds of menus. Is it supposed to? Thanks.. No, there is really nothing to put there unless you wish to make a GUI system that will only work for one set of circumstances, and one set circumstances alone, like they did with the PS:T's mod... which is huge work to go through... especially as the artists are already gone. And you should know that there are dozen or more premade GUI's in BG2's mods, and only one for PS:T that was then revised by an artist. Of course if you are willing to try as an artist, I am sure someone will be able to help you started on what you need to do, not me though... perhaps ghostdog. Link to comment
chuft
There is two that I know for Tutus, the LadeJarl's Tutu GUI v1.8 and the plain version of it. I have looked high and low including the readme's inside the RAR's, and I can't find a description of what the difference is between 1.8 and "plain" for the BG1 GUI mod. Does anyone know?
