Hi!

Since I read somewhere there is no testers and it is one on main reasons for slow progres, here are my main problems with game.

 

I play BG1 on 6 cd wersion, eng., with newwest patch (w/o dx-8 patch, widescreen mod) on Ubuntu Linux 10.04.

 

What does not work or does not work well:

- When i try to open closed box - only one type of voice tells me that it is closed.

- Some monsters does not attac.

- Often my character tries to go somewhere (to open/check i.e. barrel) but stops few feets before it.

- [duplicate] Imoen contignously tries to go and kill creature wich is on oposite side of the map - IT IS MOST ANNOYING

- [duplicate] QuickSave does not work.

- Sometimes I can not check only one person in my party.

 

In the end of the day, it works - better than wine. Thanks again for yor great job.

First serious issue:

I can not save game or almost always can not after being in carnival.

I am not sure if it is it. Propably there is problem with Minsk's Boo.

 

Getting 'Segmentation fault' while loading or saving game.

 

BUT, in Nashkel I WAS ABLE to save game with Minsk in party.

 

Bit confused. How can I provide some useful information?

[duplicate] Imoens issue is caused by 'crypto hidden' areas of the map.

[duplicate] I am ABLE to talk with persons i can not see (since there are far away from me).

 

Very miss Minsk...

Sometimes when creatures attac me between maps and i kill them i can not go anywhere. It tells me 'trawel hours: -1'.

 

It looks like everything with Misk's Boo is ok. I travel throught whole world and it is ok, until i go to carnival.

 

Creatures can go out of a house. I do not count it as a bug, it is more realistic, but, as far as i remember, with original engine they were not able to do this.

 

Some dead creatures shows again, sometimes.

 

I often can not choose spells or drinks - can not click on it.

Antidote elixir does not work at all.

 

Is there anyone who read this posts - do they have sense?

When i want to change members of my party and my character is not on the top, i can (propably) remove it, but can not remove person witch is on the top.

 

It is often hard to enter inn or hause when my character is not on the top.

 

Is there any way i can help more? I am not programmer, but, well, i can try to learn somethyng.

I do very miss cleric from carnival (turned to stone).

i can propably provide saves for most issues.

[doubled] when i cast a spell (do not remember the name, druid, 1st level, attac creatures

[doubled] from distance) it starts 'line of sparks' which falls and falls and /shshshshsssh's/ for

[doubled] the long time.

 

other problems with gui, i.e. completely dissapeard everything =0

The "minsc" save game issues are wierd, but maybe related to the general problems. You can probably solve the can't-save problem by first creating the save game directories yourself (or copying some previous saves there). Boo shouldn't be a problem and he works fine in bg2.

 

Also please post a save before you can get a segfault by saving.

"I do very miss cleric from carnival (turned to stone)." <-- so the statue is missing? Please provide a save and if you can, also one before entering that area.

2. yes, they should. It is propably beacose they tries to come closer but they does not stand close enought.

3. not check, select. sometimes gui's buttons simply does not respond.

4. yeah, it is doubled bug

 

my doubled bugs:

Party AI tries to attack creatures which are far away and out of sight. - it is that with Imoen.

 

more issues:

sometimes after rest damage indicator on portraits does not change (reload game is needed)

birds flies on edges of map.

 

i'll try to update my posts.

when i try to go upstairs and i am standing in doors (not moved after entering house) i am goind outside like when i am entering doors.

30a - unable to go to other area (travel -1)

20a - hobgoblins - they do not attacK. just go upper (Imoen will find them out %) ) and do not attack ('k', i missed them all xD).

I hope i will not double bugs again.

Here is my new series:

 

i can not save game in next two locations: cave in gnoll's... keep? and at the location with mines. while most of other bugs can be workaruonded for me, for the last bug it is impossible to play the game.

 

when i load game i can hear voice of killing all creatures i killed in this location.

 

dead body of my killed companion sometimes follow me to the next location.

 

sometimes i can not take gold from killed creature.

I will try to make my bug list less haotic.

If you can, please, delete my other posts int this topic since there are not needed anymore.

 

In game problems:

a. when i go with Imoen to open some chest and the chest is closed i hear men's voice which tell's me that the chest is closed.
b. Some monsters does not attack - does not they stay to far from me? (save 20a)
c. Often my character tries to go somewhere (to open/check i.e. barrel) but stops few feets before it. Isn't it the same problem as (b)?
d. Creatures can go out of a house. I do not count it as a bug, it is more realistic, but, as far as i remember, with original engine they were not able to do this.

Gui problems:

A. Sometimes I can not check only one person in my party.
B. I often can not choose spells or drinks - can not click on it.
It seems that A and B are the same problem 'Gui does not respond' it is commonly in fight or after putting up gold or artifacts from creatures.
C. When i want to change members of my party and my character is not on the top, i can (propably) remove it, but can not remove person witch is on the top.
D. It is often hard to enter inn or hause when my character is not on the top.
E. other problems with gui, i.e. completely dissapeard everything (like when i die).
F. sometimes after rest damage indicator on portraits does not change (reload game is needed)

 

Program's bugs:

1. I can not save game or almost always can not after being in carnival, mines and cave at gnoll's location. (save 40/40a, before entering location and after, incomplete save)

Segmentation fault is almost surely a gemrb bug.

You can help by running gemrb in gdb or some other debugger, and when it crashes, type: where

 

Then post the results.

 

If you manage more than one crashes, check all results. If they are different, post all of them. If they are same or very similar, then one is enough.

The first crash is due to bad spell level being requested (6266 out of 9!), but we check for that on the previous line. :S We'll have to check this ourselves.

 

btw, if you want to quit gdb and gemrb, type q or quit.

i do not get it.

i checked again. this time error at carnival looks pretty same as for other areas.

The second crash is weird too.

 

In #3 stream is a null (this). But before the call, it says stream is 0xbfffade0.

Though that value is nonzero, it is an odd value. I suspect it is invalid, i just don't know how that happens.

San: could you get the latest source from git, recompile and retry?

This code seems older than the one in git.

If you have the version which had core in plugins, then probably delete any stray gemrb binaries/shared libs before compile.

i got latest version from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gemrb/

which is 0.6.0. i will try throught git, thats ok.

 

Can i simply do make uninstall?
