Conners
For some reason, I loved Korax the ghoul, for the 10 minutes I had him. I felt deep sympathy when I had to kill this poor, unfortunate creature... Looked around, and couldn't see any material existing for Korax. Decided I should ask, whether anyone knew of mods related to Korax--'specially ones that make him a recruit-able NPC. If there isn't anything, it'd be neat if someone decided to start an NPC mod for him. Link to comment

Conners
Brilliant idea, someone should get to work on this right away. I'd certainly play such a mod . Having an undead guy would also be a novelty. Link to comment
joshuar9476
that would be interesting, but only if the modder speeds him up ... sometimes i just kill him early because i'm tired of how slow he moves. Link to comment
Ipsy
Er...maybe I'm just being stupid or something, but why would Korax be so great? It - not he - is undead, feasts on the living, and has basically no personality. And there are mods with undead NPCs - Miriam and Valen. Link to comment
Lollorian
Do Neh'taniel and Horace count as undead? The novelty in Korax might be that he's a star from BGI Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
The novelty in Korax might be that he's a star from BGI ... and dies in the ten minute marker, there's only so many horror it can show you within that time, like how to disembowel Minsc, then throw the head to Ajantis, befriend with Tiax so the cause wounds can heal so the skeleton army can be faced that Branwen summoned, and so that Dynaheir is easy pickings. Conners
@joshuar9476: Yes, of course. Not sure if ghouls are/were meant to be that slow in ADnD. If so, it'd just mean a low DEX score to compensate? @Ipsy: Well, why is he, out of so many NPCs, automatically known by BG fans ? Also... why "it" (I mean, he was a male/female human/elven/whateveren before he became a ghoul--I assume male)? As for no personality... he had about, three lines, plus three(?) snips of audio. To leave an impression, just with that much, he did an impressive job. Didn't think Valen or Miriam could be added to BG1? @Lollorian: Yep. Whole bunch of NPCs who won't rejoin you in BG2. Be neat to see an old face (especially if he was recruit-able in BG1). @Jarno Mikkola: My character would pay to see that . Link to comment
Ipsy
I say "it" because, regardless of Korax's previous gender, it's undead, even if the voice sounds male. I dunno, to me it seems like specifiying a gender to a golem. As it is, Korax's main concern is finding some poor sucker to eat. I didn't immediately remember Korax, actually. I had to look it up. Overall, though...there's any number of faces from BG1 I'd much rather see in BG2. Skie, Eldoth, Branwen, Coran, Safana, and Garrick as more than brief cameos or one-day NPCs, for a start. And as a wannabe modder, there are numerous projects that I enjoy working on, and an undead monster just isn't one of them. Link to comment
Aion
Cool. Not something I'd work on myself, probably, but could be amusing if executed well. Link to comment
Conners
You don't have to mod this, Ipsy. As for gender, I see your point in physical bodily fashion, but in terms of what he is, like a vampire, you'd say they're male or female. "It" would be insulting. As for some "poor sucker" to eat... he's the poor fellow who is cursed to hunger like that. He was lonely, and wanted to be the player's friend. But his ghoulish nature overcame him. That's why I feel sorry for Korax. @Aion: Yes, highly amusing. I can imagine some NPC dialogue where you wake up at camp, and find Korax agonizing over whether he should eat you (you then convince him not to). Link to comment
