Guest DSL
So I would like to move Tiax to Beregost instead of finding him in Baldur's Gate. Should I uninstall the mod and redo it with that change or would it work better to just reinstall it over top of the original since I'm only making that one change and I've not made it to BG yet? I've never had him in my party before and I thought it would be fun to get the most time possible with him especially with the NPC Project layering on all the extra goodness!! Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
So I would like to move Tiax to Beregost instead of finding him in Baldur's Gate. Should I uninstall the mod and redo it with that change or would it work better to just reinstall it over top of the original since I'm only making that one change and I've not made it to BG yet? Having been at BG in the save doesn't have any effect, but having been in Beregost has... as you need to NOT have been in the city you wish to make the change to. But you could also always just CLUAConsole the character... and I would give the whole code, were I to know which game are you playing the game in(BGT, BG1Tutu, EasyTutu or Baldur's Gate...). berelinde
I never recommend reinstalling mods since something always seems to go wrong. To help you get the most out of your game, I would want to know whether you have been to Beregost. If you have, reinstalling the mod would do you no good, anyway. If you have not, you could try reinstalling. Or you could console him in, in which case, I would need to know if you are using Tutu or BGT. Link to comment
Guest DSL
Thanks for the help, I've already been to Beregost, of course haha. I'm playing Tutu, should have mentioned that before... Thanks again Link to comment
berelinde
If you are operating on a Windows XP machine, it will be easy to create Tiax via console. If you are playing on a Vista or Windows 7 machine, you may not be able to use the console at all. First, open up your game directory. That's your Tutu game directory. That's probably c:\program files\black isle\baldursgatetutu. Find the file called baldur.ini. Open it with Notepad. Under Program Options, type in Debug Mode=1 And save it. Fire up the game and hit the CTRL key and the SPACE bar at the same time. That will open up a new line in the lower part of the screen. Type in the following CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("_tiax") And hit enter twice. Tiax should spawn right next to you. If you have Vista or Windows 7, you'll just have to play fast to get to Baldur's Gate, since the default installation on a Vista or newer machine doesn't allow console use. You have to be clever and install the game in a directory other than Program Files, which you wouldn't have known to do. Link to comment
Guest DSL
I have Windows 7 and I installed to c: > BG Tutu I think this told me to do something like that: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=8122 So there might be hope for me yet? And one (unrelated) question if you'll permit it: Under the character scripts (like ranged, standard, passive etc) at the bottom there are new ones like Custom(_mage1) Custom(_mage2) as well as those for other classes. I'm not sure where they come from, but more importantly, how they are different and what they do. I don't remember downloading any script packs so I don't know what readme to track down. Any thoughts on that as well? Link to comment
berelinde
Hey, you can try to change baldur.ini. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work. You'll know right away if you close the file and then open it up a moment later to find nothing changed. As for the scripts, that's the kind of thing that makes my head explode. Every modder has his or her area of expertise, and that isn't mine. Did you install any tactical mods? Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
Type in the followingCLUAConsole:CreateCreature("_tiax") And hit enter twice. Tiax should spawn right next to you. There's also the CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("_tiax4") CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("_tiax6") That could be used... and the creature is created at the center of the screen, or to a tile that's closes to it if the current one is occupied, but then again it might be better to use this: CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("y") Where the y is the amount of XP the all currently selected characters would be set to. If you have Vista or Windows 7, you'll just have to play fast to get to Baldur's Gate, since the default installation on a Vista or newer machine doesn't allow console use. You have to be clever and install the game in a directory other than Program Files, which you wouldn't have known to do. Sometimes people surprise each others, this time it was the good as the W7 does(or at least should) give the console when the game is not in the "program files" -sub folders, or if it's not in the C drive. What comes to the scripts, the WeiDu.log's content would give us accurate estimate of what mod installed the scripts, I suggest that you DSL open the file with Notepad and copy paste the files text to a post. jastey
Jarno suggested you post the conten of your WeiDu.log, not a script. (The script you posted is compiled and does't make much sense to read this way.) Link to comment
