Save Game editing?

I was hoping to be able to edit items or stats is there any way to edit Save Games? The Infinity Engine Save Editor doesn't seem to like EasyTutu versions of Save Games.

I can do file editing or minor Hex editing if those are required. Just looked in the Override folder and almost fainted, seeing 1000s of files I might have to search through. :faint:

Thanks for any tips.

E.g. I started a Save for each Kensai and MageSlayer, finding these Affects:

MS

Type: 0x00A6

Type: 0x00F8

Kensai

Type: AC

Type: 0x00BE

Additionally I did try to search here for ShadowKeeper (got 5 pages) and for Affect (got 5 pages), with no luck so far.

Thanks for any tips or links.

Thanks for the link, Mike1072.

Guessing, NI and DLTCEP are Editors, those commands look very comprehensive. Since I am new to using mods with these games it might be easier to play sooner, if I can find a list of Affects for Shadowkeeper. At least till I can get a week or so to learn how to work these new Editors.

I have spent the last 4 days getting/learning about the mod scene here and I am anxious to play a game. :cringe:

I just noticed if I start a game as one kit (e.g. Wiz Slayer) save the game before it calculates your stats. Then use SK to change your class/kit to another (Assassin) it seems to retain some if not all of the original kit (not sure, atm). Additionally looks like you could still Dual as a Human, technically giving you 3 kits. Guessing of course, since my toon is still in front of Candlekeep Inn.

Hopefully someone will have a ShadowKeeper list/link too!

Thanks for any tips or links.

Edit: So as to not start a new thread, does anyone recall which mod adds the Health numbers over the PC head in EasyTutu installs, not sure I am going to use but can't recall atm?

Dang, was worried this would happen. These programs do look great, now I'm trying to learn how to do these programs, instead of playing. :cringe:

Getting the hang of NI, was able access .GaM in a Save with no real effect (e.g. stat adjustment didn't show up). Yet, can't seem to access two decompressed files in the .SaV (default.ToH and default.ToT). These must be the files I need, since saving inside CandleKeep Inn there are 5 .ArE and 1 .StO. Once these files are Decompressed the .ToH and ToT register as Unsupported Format to View/Edit. Is there a special plug in needed to edit the .ToH and ToT files or are EasyTuTu saves, sol?

DLTC looks like it has amazing flexibility in creating, though can't figure out how to edit the PC (if possible) in a save. Managed to get the .SaV decompressed somewhere, but don't see anyway to Edit PC or actually find the files (heh). Pressing Readme on the Toolbar doesn't seem to work (user error, no doubt), though don't see much in the Readme of the install directory, either.

Any advice or links to help would be appreciated, thanks. :)

Party members are stored in the .gam. Any modifications you make to a file in NI are temporary until you navigate to a different file. At that point it will ask if you want to save the changes. You're responsible for keeping your own backups.

EasyTutu is identical to BG2 behind the scenes. There's nothing really worth editing in .toh/.tot files. Check IESDP for info on file types used by the game.

Thanks Mike1072.

Odd, then must be doing something else wrong. I can see my changes with NI in the game file but not showing up in-game character sheet. Reduced Lore, after choosing PC, then Edit, scroll down to CRE, View/Edit, then edited Lore. Exiting to another file, save, verify edit, start the game, no change. Do I need to level before it takes effect or is this the wrong location to edit Lore?

Would the game break or crash if you tried something like giving an out of class kit to the PC (e.g. a Thief kit to a Bard or a Fighter kit to a Mage)?

Thanks for any tips. :cringe:
