Guest Sullen
I am running a patched (to the most current) but otherwise unmodded version Throne of Bhaal and attempting to use the Widescreen mod. I have no errors when installing the mod, however when I attempt to enter the game, I experience colors that are wildly 'off' Also, I can only see the top left corner of what should be appearing on the screen, and that shows up in the bottom right corner of my monitor. I am using an ATI card 4800 series card. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod several times, and configuring it for several different resolutions. 1680x1050, 1900x1200, etc, all generate a screen that looks exactly the same with exactly the same error. Is there a specific option in my BG2 config that could be interfering with the functionality of the mod? If necessary I will post a screenshot of exactly what the problem looks like, though I am hoping maybe this has been encountered before and maybe someone can shed some light. As a final note, I am running windows 7 64 bit, I've altered most of my security settings to the minimum possible, so I doubt UAC or any other windows nonsense is interfering with it. Thank you. Where is the game installed ? If it's in the "Program Files (x84)" folder, you need to re-install the game elsewhere, put the UAC off (read this topics second answer)... And remember that you need to first test the clean game(start the game so it autosaves and check if the graphics seem OK, if they don't use the BGConfig.exe to fix it) before you install any mods, so you can set it so it doesn't have internal problems. You can only use the BGConfig.exe's 1024x768 at that stage, but the Widescreen mod fixes that after it's installed(and you are done with the short testing of the game). Now, you are using the v2.60 from the Gibberlings Three's link in here ? PS, the standard resolution is 1920x1200... Link to comment
Guest Mortimus
I am having the exact same problem. Im also running windows 7 64-bit, with an ATi 4800 series card. When I start a game the colours are off and only the top left of the game is shown, and thats in the bottom right corner of my screen - the rest is black. I set the resolution to 1680 x 1050. I have BGII and ToB installed on a totaly different drive, NOT in the 'program files' folder, and patched to the latest version. Once BGII and ToB were installed, I started a new game of each and quicksaved it. Graphics and colours were both fine, and the game ran with no problems. I then made sure UAC and program compatability assistant were both turned off, and firewall and anti-virus software were off before I started the mods install. Unlike the original poster, I am using a BiG world install with several other mods. However, my problem is exactly the same as his, and our systems so similar that I believe that it is either this specific mod and/or our systems that are causing the issue. Any help would be very much appreciated, and if any more information is required I will do my best to provide it. Thanks in advance. Link to comment

Hmm, it sounds like the screen is reset back to a default resolution which is lower than the set in the Widescreen mod, while the interface is kept in the widescreen'ed setup... and the colors could also be the result of this... and why only a part of the interface is shown. Is your monitor even able to show the 1680 x 1050 resolution (preferably as a native resolution and while your desktop is also set to that)? And is the GPU's drivers up to date ... link for a one.
