Again I came across an error with the Item Randomiser component 1300. I reported this some time ago.

Is there any fix for this?

I've been unable to reproduce this bug.

But upon reviewing the code just now I think I may have found the problem.

Thanks for the poke.

 

I'll try to get an unofficial v6.7 out later today tomorrow.

Pretty sure the randomization of the tome of wisdom in durlag's tower is not happening with a weidu randomization.

Tested it out with version 6.8 with 6 randomizations (three with script randomization and three with weidu)

I did a fresh install of the randomization mod each time and then started a new game. After the randomization was finished I used CLUAConsole to teleport to the tower to check on the tome of wisdom.

 

With the in game script randomization. The tome of wisdom was gone from the tower each time and not replaced with a new tome (I presume that means it was replaced with a random tome and placed somewhere else in the game.)

However with the three weidu randomizations the tome of wisdom was neither moved or changed to another tome.

Okay, can reproduce. The Gromnir thing is a bug alright. Will fix.

 

The scrolls thing looks like luck of the draw. There is an awful lot of scrolls being randomised. Stands to reason there will occasionally be someone who receives multiple copies of the same scroll (like Rayic or the Yuan-ti mage). Some tiers contain more scrolls than others, or might contain fewer locations than others, and would thus be particularly susceptible to this. I can look into adding some more locations for scrolls, so you'll not find quite so many of them in any one place. The multiple copies might also be a deficiency in WeiDU's (OCaml's) pseudo-random number generator, but there's little I can do about that.

Thanks Wisp, I figured it would be something like this. I remember Mekrath's bookcase having 3 6th level scrolls on one occasion but only one on my current game. The trademeet raks had one 4th and one 5th level scroll which looks right.

Yes, there are two copies of that sword in BG1. Item Randomiser is supposed to delete the copy in Ulgoth's Beard, but I see the code can potentially fail to do so under some circumstances. Can you tell me what platform you are on (BGT or Tutu, etc.) and post the contents of your weidu.log, please?

Not sure if this is still being monitored, but wanted to post a bug report (and see if there is an easy solution) for the latest version of Item Randomiser:

 

With original BG1 and TotSC (no Tutu or BGT), using mode 2 randomization:

 

Enabling "Component: Randomize scrolls" causes scrolls randomized into vendors to sell for 1g each.

 

Hopefully there is a workaround for this; the randomization is great but being able to buy lvl 3-4 scrolls for 1g kinda ruins the challenge.

 

Otherwise, great mod!

Thanks for the quick fix on scrolls.

 

Unfortunately I seem to have found another more serious bug (using v6.8 prior to scroll price fix). Again, this is for BG1 and Tales without BGT or Tutu (mode 2).

 

It seems with Randomiser installed, entering the golem cave near on the siren coast causes the game to hang with a return to desktop (not a crash, game is still running but unresponsive). Not sure if this is related to a specific component of mod.

 

I determined that the crash was mod-related by uninstalling the Randomiser and re-entering cave, which works fine.

 

If it would help, I can submit any mod files for your inspection.
