Charmed Party Members

I'm not sure what is the cause of this, but I thought I'd start here, since SCS affects scripts. Anyway, basically as the topic says: whenever any of my party gets charmed, instead of attacking me they just stand around doing nothing. They get a red circle but that's it. Has anyone had this problem? If so how should I fix it? Thanks in advance!

If they were 'Charmed' then it's normal behavior. Going hostile only occurs for 'Dire Charmed/Dominated' creatures.

 

By "normal" do you mean vanilla behaviour? I seem to remember they still attack if charmed. Of course, I may just be wrong! But why then should I be able to tell charmed enemies to attack their friends and not the other way round?

 

Now I know I also have spell revisions installed, but AFAIK it doesn't really change the charm spell at all. Anyway no biggy really, I just thought It was a bug.

There're two different types of charm in game, one simply prevents a creature from taking hostile actions against caster, while another additionally gives the caster a full control over the target, allowing to direct it against it's own comrades. In both cases the target changes the color of underfoot circle, so it's only by behavior possible to tell whether it was charmed or dominated.

As far as I remember, the 1st level Charm Person is the first type, and Dire Charm/Domination are the other. Innate abilities of various monsters may differ as well, but iirc they're called appropriated, i.e. vampires' and illithids' innate is '(Psionic) Domination', sirines cast 'Dire Charm', while Gauths shoot harmless 'Charm'.

Ah but the difference is, when I cast 1st level charm on an enemy, I do have full control over his actions, and can tell him to go take a swing at his companions. But the same doesn't seem to be true when one of my party gets charmed. And I am pretty sure vanilla BG did make 1st lvl charmed party members attack, not just stand and wait til the spell wears off.
